I'm new to playing elec. guitar - but I'm a long time classical player. My music teacher recommended it to me, she has the reg. version not the Jr. and everyone in the music store agreed that this one is much more user friendly than the other version. I'm not a pro. player, I use it to practice and as a learning tool. For those purposes, I don't see how it can be beat!

Just got the extra protection plan coverage refund check on this amp. I had it for about 2 months and it started cutting out on me. No idea why. Not the chord or the switches in the guitar but something in the power source? Input and all effects stopped at once. Light would come on but that's it. For a beginner or someone like me who plays alone in the basement when the little guy is sleeping and needs the headphone out this is a great idea. The built in bass and drum beats are a wonderful way to blow off steam and practice w/o dealing w/ other people all the time. JUST MAKE SURE YOU PAY THE $20 FOR THE WARRANTY COVERAGE.

Extremely low tone

By Matt

from Britain

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

Well, this amp can get a really huge range of tones, but quality is not as good when u turn it to 10 but it would b barely enough to practice if u turn it to 9, and i have herd that if u turn it to 10 the speaker might blow out so i never turn it to 10. It can get a reaally nice tone if u plug in youre headphones and has reaaaaaaaaaally low tones, even in the back its got a warning that if u turn it too low with volume too high it can cause hearing damage! so it was taunting me to do so and i did. Gess what hapened next: i got complaint from people from my house and from the 2 side houses! it can get really nice at bedrioom bvolume but im giving this a 4 not a 5 because: *u cant programme a setting *no pedal included but if u got the money to buy this and u want an average amp get this. but if want the best amp for ur money, better get a vox pathfinder

Nice pallete

By Jason F.

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

I got this amplifier with a suire affinity strat. I was pleased with the wide range of tone that it provided. There are not a lot of practice amps around for this price that can do everything that this does. The effects are obviously not as nice as having pedals, but if you are looking for a guitar that can do everything without having to go out and spend a bunch of money buying pedals for everything, this is a great amp. Like I said, the wide range of amp models and effects is great. The effects can be run simultaneusly; for example, the chorus selection has two chorus settings and then a chorus with reverb and a chorus with delay. All of that is very useful. This is a perfect amp for practcing, all though the ditortion does get crackly. Also, if you are an aspiring metal player, note that the metal settings will not accurately represent an actual Mesa amplifier. The British combo amp model is closer to a scooped tone than the metal settings. Still, a great amp. There is really nothing like this for the price, and I suggest it for any beginning guitarist.

Not bad

By Will

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

In review I have been trying to learn guitar and this amp was pretty great, it gives off a great learning experiance lets you feel like your actually playing in a band and thats coming from a almost 3 year bassist. But greatfully I got a warrenty becuase within 3 months the speaker became very fuzzy with sound. Itryed different cables but it still became very fuzzy. Sadly the speaker eventually became quieter and quieter until you could barely even hear it. all in all it is a great idea but it quit within about 4 months. The amp still works so you just need a better speaker.

good things come in small packages

By CH

from Tahoe

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

Bought this little gem from GC during their 4th of July sale. Great fender sound for most of the modeling types (blackface, tweed, etc.). Reverb is spot on! Built-in Drum/Tempo is extremely useful with a reasonable array of apps (Chicago, Rock, Ballad, etc). Records well and could likely be used live if mic-up properly. Good value for price. The weak point (IMO)is the Bass machine. Offers choice of key, but lines are very limited. But that is to be expected. Overall rating: Very Good. There's a lot to like in this little monster! Well done, Fender.

Great little amp!!!

By Rick Shank

from westlake ohio

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

As the title says this is a great little amp. i got mine in a package but I wanted to review this amp alone. This amp sounds great has just about every distortion effect a beginner or someone who just doesent have the cash to dsih out for distortion pedals would need. It will handle any volume and it doesent sound muddy when it is distorted so thats a plus. for its size it gets pretty loud but not as loud as my marshall 40 watt but what do you expect its only 15 watts. This amp is very durable. I have banged it against walls and it hardly is effected there is only one dent in it that happened form my crazy kitten. It fell from the top of a five foot bookshelf all the way to the ground and the only thing that broke was the plastic nut holdign the jack in because my patch cable was in it and it caused it to snap. No problem though just opened it up and pushed it through and salvaged one from my other amp. Now there is a little ding in the wood but its hardly noticeable. Works great so just buy it.

Great Amp

By Paul

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

This amp is great, I bought it used for a fraction of the price and it is great. The FX are sweet (Reverb, Chorus, Flange, Tremolo, Clean, and Delay). This amp can get pretty loud for one this size. The built in drum machine is great for working on solos, and you can even set the tempo to a variety of speeds for anything from the Blues to Metal. Overdrive is good, could use a bigger difference between clean and distortion, but all in all great amp. Definitely recommend.

GREAT BEGINNER AMP!!!!

By Guitarwhizkid

from Schaumburg, IL

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

When i got this amp with my Affinity Squier Fat Strat (HSS), I thought that this was one of the best clean amps around. Then I went to my friend's house and played on his Line 6. I quickly realized how muddy this is with cheap guitars. However, it a very friendly user-interface, not very confusing, and it holds up well and loud for only being 15 watts. Great for beginners and as a practice amp for semi-pros, but if you're good, either get the better G-Dec or get a Marshall.

A Solid 4

By Dave

from Illinois

Comments about Fender G-DEC Junior:

I bought this amp when I got my first Squire Standard Fat Strat a few months ago. With a bit of playing around with the "Amp", "FX Select", and guitar knobs I can get just about any sound I like. I especially like the metronome and background loop functionality. I rattles a bit when the volume's at "11". But that's only when the wife out running errands. As a beginner, it's everything I need.
