I just had to update my previous review. I made two changes to this guitar and got it perfect. As I previously wrote, the guitar is beautiful and has a great sound but just would not stay in tune. I resorted to locking the bridge flat to the body at the expense of the tremolo feature. Then I changed to Fender's Deluxe locking tuners and put a set of D'Addario XL/9's on. I set the treme1o back to Fender specs and WOW it stays in tune and sounds awesome even with hard trem use.
I have this Strat for about a month now. The finish on the guitar is beautiful. The Texas Special pups sound great, when set a little low and when I play really hard. They seam to come alive. Set up was a little dificult. The guitar needed frequent adjustments, but seams to have broken in so to speak. The only thing that I feel is a down side of this guitar, but probably affects most tremolo style guitars, is that it doesn't stay in tune. I set the bridge flush to the body, tightened up all six mounting screws and increased the tension on the three trem springs. I will probably add two more springs. Stays in tune longer but at the expense of the trmelo feature. Overall it is fun to play and has that great Strat sound. Plus you can't beat the great GC price for a made in the U.S.A. Strat.
