Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is good for anyone who is in a band and wants good tone without having to sacrifice a lot of money. It has very high volume, and I still haven't blown a speaker even when it's all the way cranked! This amp also has very good distortion for all kinds of music.Overall it's a good value!!

good clean channel amp

By Guitarmanrocks

from Nashville, TN

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp Is Loud and can be noisey. It is great if playing outside, on a big stage, ect... It is hard to keep at low volume. In a 10x8 room you can't turn it down without getting blown away. Try to get a Volume pedal. I ran it through a POD line6 to control the volume. The amp distortion is noisey, If you are playing death metal music ect.. You will need a Pod or a effects pedals. The clean channel sounds great. I run my guitar into a POD then into this amp on the left channel. On the right channel I run the POD into a Vox tube amp. I also keep both amps on clean channels and use the Pod effects. The blend is great sound for recording.

Sick Amp!

By roselli89

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I bought this amp for christmas hoping to get a good tone and a nicer amp. I was overwhelmed by this amp, clean is chrystal clear and even distortion isint bad. I threw a digitech distortion pedal on there with my echo park and it gets the job done. Great amp

Its a fender!

By Matthew-U2

from hollywood,CA

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

fender simply makes the best amps. I had my doubts about this amp because of the cheap price, but this amp is far from cheap quality. I decided to take a leap and buy it and it was one of the best desicions i have ever made. I use this amp at all my gigs, it projects loud clean sounds when you set it to clean mode, and the distortion comes out beautifully. This is the perfect amp!

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought this amp for the price and the Fender reputation and am really happy i did. Got guts, sweet tones and great for blues. Love the reverb. Wanted the Twin but this is good enough for me. Everyone who plays on it just raves.

Great Price, Great sound, weak distortion

By Moody Bible Institute rocks

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I have owned this amp for about two years. I bought it when i was in high school and a little short on cash. I love this amp and have used it at tons and tons of shows including shows with more than 1000 people in attendance. My only complaint about the FM 212R is the onboard distortion. It is great for minor distortions or even punk + emo but to get a quality metal sound i suggest using the line 6 uber metal pedal or the Boss meta master. Overall, a great buy.

Great Clean Channel

By ramlax13

from NJ

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp continues to set the trend for what Fender is known for, which is an amazing sounding clean channel. The problem is that the nice clean channel is all this amp really has to offer. The distortion channel on this amp is disapointing. It just doesn't sound good. The reverb is average at best. All hope isn't lost because if you use a distortion pedal and some other pedal effects you can make this amp sound amazing. If your looking for a good loud clean channel, get this amp. If you want heavy distortion, get a distortion pedal with it.

More Bang for your Buck

By John H. Buckley

from Arvada , Colorado

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased my Fender FM 212 about 1 1/2 months ago. It is the best Amp by Fender I have played through in years. With it's crisp clean sound as well as the overdrive feature you would stand up and be noticed as a Quality Musician. As well as the output power of 100 Watts and 2 12" speakers I would be proud to play any kind of Music also because of the Craftmanship known just in the name Fender. It takes no back seat to any Amplifier on the Market today.A great powerhouse of a Amplifier for a low price.

Good enough I must say

By What about guitar center

from Scarborough, ME

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp really pulls it off. The clean channel sounds great, and the distortion channels are just alright, but I must admit they're pretty aggressive. I can get that classic sparkly Strat tone with low gain though, and I guess that makes up for it. The lack of decent distortion can easily be solved with a decent distortion pedal. I use the death metal distortion pedal (although I'm not a fan of metal or the tone) with the emulated circuitry and I get a pretty smooth rhythm tone. The reverb isn't much... at all. Actually as a matter of fact I can barely hear it, and it adds a very subtle buzzing. But not to worry, at high volumes it will easily be drowned out. Oh and, its very loud, it doesn't even have to be turned up past 3 to be heard over a drum set, and 6 to drown it out. My conclusion, its good enough for anyone who can afford pedals but doesn't need the fancy stuff.

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased this amo about 3 months ago, and i must say its a nice amp. The distortion could be better but a good distortion pedal could fix that easily. I play an Epiphone G-400 on it and it sounds great overall

Fender FM 212R

By Mike Dees

from Memphis, TN

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

The Fender FM 212R is a decent amp for the price. The clean channel is the pristine sound Fender is famous for. The distorted channels leave a lot to be desired, though. There is no warmth at all and it becomes muddy quite easily. I would recommend using a pedal. The reverb is slightly cheap sounding also. I bought this amp and ended up taking it back. It is VERY loud and performed well in an outdoor setting. But there is really no taming this beast. At practice it was blowing away the drums while the volume was on one. The covering wasn't glued on very well either, seperating from the frame after a few days. I would only recommend this amp for the great Fender clean channel at an affordable price.

Affordable

By Tim

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

Quality is hit or miss with this amp. Some are assembled well and can have no problems or some can have a dozen problems. From what I've seen and heard it seems decently reliable. It has a good clean channel and sounds good for it's price. This thing also gets loud. I dont think there would be any trouble getting it loud enough. Finally, the price is hard to beat. Overall, if you need an amp that doesn't sound horrible and don't have a lot of cash, this amp is your best bet. Not to mention, it looks great.

Great Amp For The Money

By CPD731

from Lubbock, Tx

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I purchased this amp from my local guitar center about three months ago to replace my smaller Fender Princeton Chorus amp that I had for years. I have to say that for the money, this is the best amp out there. There may be some who say that the distortion leaves something to be desired but I like it. It more than meets my needs as a lead guitarist in a rock band and it's not as fuzzy as the Crate amp in the same price range, plus you just can't beat Fender's clean channels. I would definitely recommend the Fender FM 212 Guitar Combo Amp to any practicing or gigging guitarist out there. My only complaint is that it does not come with wheels and can get heavy on a long trek.

Loud! and Loving It

By Tim

from Carol Stream, IL

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I really couldn?t be happier with the volume this amp puts out. I usually have it at 2 out of 10 for practice and shows. It?s clean channel is also amazing. The one thing that is slightly of setting is the built in distortion, it is great but it might not be what you looking for it all depends on what you play. You can always use a pedal. But over all especially for the price it is absolutely amazing.

great clean channel

By interpol1988

from California

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

The clean channel sounds pretty awesome, Especially with the boss ds-1 pedal hooked up to it. It's Gain channel isn't really all that great, if you put it avove 4, then yo'll beging to notice ugly feeedback. The guitarist in my Hardcore band uses it and it sounds really good with his DS-1 pedal. It's quite loud too. It's a great value for the price.

First amp

By XxcomebackkidxX

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I got this amp for christmas two years ago. The clean channel is great. If you want good distortion then your gonna have to buy a channel. If you turn the volume up past 6 then your gonna get a bit of nasty feedback. It was a pritty good amp for my first one.

Amazing Amp For Good Price But Has Problems...

By CrazyBetty:)

from American Fork

Comments about Fender FM 212R Guitar Combo Amp:

I Bough this amp in September 2006. It worked wonderful! I play a couple show and it was just great to have around. I never had a single problem until one day in december when I was just play around on the clean channel and I started to get alot of feedback! Then I turned it to Distortion and I started to get that high pitch overdrive noise and the amp was only at Volume 3. I found out that there was something wrong with the treble on the amp. It wasnt able to handle it for some reason. But Fender backs their products up with a 5 year warrenty so it was no probelm I just took it back and got it repaired. And now it works fine. I would still recommend this amp to anyone.
