It's a good loud amp for begeiners

Comments about Fender FM 15 DSP Frontman Combo Amplifier:

I have had this amp for about 3 months and it has'nt let me down yet. I realy like its clean sound quality, and the crunch is really good too. Now I will agree it's not the use of the pro's, but it has great sound quality. It's verry road worthy, and sturdy i can stand on top of this thing and jump without worry. Great for small rehersals I can hear it over other guitars and even over the drum's a little I recomend it for begeiners

A tad overpriced

Comments about Fender FM 15 DSP Frontman Combo Amplifier:

Good things about this amp: 1) Clean Channel sound 2)Enough effects and amp modeling to get an idea of what you really want (down the line) 3)Passable Gain control on an entry level amp. 4)Easy to use Not so good things about this amp: 1)Effect control is a pot, not a switch, so setting is not locked and hard to set if you are not looking right at it. 2)Line-in play along RCA jacks have a fixed volume setting, you're stuck with it. 3)Price is about $50 too much. 4)No Line out jack A few observations and tweaks: While I don't hate this amp, I don't know how Fender can sell it for $150 when a Vox DA15 puts it to shame (for about 10 bucks more), and for $40 more a Vox AD15VT blows it completely away. It does fill a niche for a simple and easy to use practice amp (ala the Crate GLX15 Combo) with most of the stuff you'd want to have handy on a daily basis. I noticed that when listening with headphones that this amp sounds much better than with the built-in speaker. The headphone output is low level (not line level), so you can't line out to a better speaker. I installed a line out jack so I can use any speaker cabinet, and the amp sounds MUCH better than with the "special design" cone it ships with. The biggest difference was with the cab modeling, especially the "acoustic" setting. The real downer is that this amp has zero resale value. I tried to trade up at the GC where I bought it and it wasn't even worth the trouble to tote it there. That's why I ended up taking it back home and modding it.

Its not a 1k dollar amp

Comments about Fender FM 15 DSP Frontman Combo Amplifier:

I purchased this amp for my son who is just starting out. It is a lot of amp for the money. I have put it up against the 15 amp Marshal and it holds its own,"Actually made him cry". I did not pay full price for the amp I dealt with the store.Got it for a little over a hundred dollars. Any one who pays full price for anything is cheating themselves!! Stores know most people who come in their stores are going to dicker with the price, it is Expected! It is a GREAT amp and I strongly recommend it for anyone just starting out or a good practice amp for around the house!

Tone Hurts

By Scribble

from TX

Comments about Fender FM 15 DSP Frontman Combo Amplifier:

This amp is a good amp if you play by yourself. The amp will have a pretty loud hum if you turn the tone up which is not good. The distortion has a sweet spot in there but you have to find it. You can not play a wide variety of music with it with out a decent pedal this amp will barley get you by keep looking you canget better for the price, better yet save a little longer untill you can step it up a notch...or two
