Overview

The Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar is built on the concert-style platform for a sleek, modern design. The laminated spruce top features X-bracing for bright, punchy tone, ideal for lead guitar. The neck is nato, and the back and sides are laminated basswood-both tone woods known for letting the mid and high frequencies sing out.

Thanks to the basswood back and sides, the Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar is very light, avoiding strain to your neck or back during prolonged playing. The chrome tuners offer precision tuning. The guitar also features an impressive electronics system, featuring the Fishman ION-T preamp and built-in chromatic tuner, which provides lightning-fast tuning and amplification. The preamp features a volume dial, phase and contour buttons, and a tuner power button.

The FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar is fashioned with a natural gloss polyurethane finish, aged fretboard and body bindings, and a white concentric ring rosette that offers a striking contrast, and an appearance as beautiful as its sound.

Bought this Fender FA135CE Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar based upon the reviews. Glad I did. I wanted something to pick on while on vacation that was not too expensive ($160 w/tax) as I will leave it at family members house to use next time visiting our summer cabin in Michigan. I was pleasantly surprised by the neck feel and play ability. While its not a big deep sounding guitar it still has a pleasant tone with good enough volume and sound for picking and a grinning around the campfire or on the pontoon boat. Have not played through an amp yet but anticipate it will have a decent tone. Built in tuner is kind of funky at first but once you use it a couple times you understand how it works and the tuning is spot on. Guitar stayed in reasonable tune even when playing fairly heavy outside by the fire (just some minor tuning from the string stretching), I used the strings that came with it had no issues with them but will put my Dean Markleys on next time playing. Overall very pleased. If you are a beginner this guitar is solid to start on, or if you are an experienced player and just want a simple no frills guitar to not worry about banging it around, buy this one. I ended up buying another one when I got home to use as my go to beach guitar! NOTE - 5 stars based on play ability, price and overall value -

I ordered this guitar for my 14 year old daughter to learn on. After checking it out at a store I had high hopes. She wanted it in natural so I ordered online and was excited for it to arrive so I could set it up and get her started. On the day of arival I opened the package. It seemed to be packaged well but once unwrapped the first thing I noticed was a cracked neck. The fretboard near the sound hold was cracked and the fret board on the first and second frets was riddled with surface cracks. There were several blemishes in the finish. Something I could live with, but all up and down the neck where the fret bars were the finish was alwful. It looked like a 5 year old sanded this guitar. All and all it sounded pretty good when I played it in the store. Good for a begginer anyway. The only thing I can say is Im extremely dissapointed.

this compares to a 1500 dollar guitar

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

i bout this guitar a month ago. Its sounds beautiful, better than all of the guitars i own. it has a cut away on the neck, it makes it easy to reach the higher frets. the lightweight ( only about 1 pound) lets you play for prolonged time, without putting any strain on your neck this guitar sounds beautiful and looks beautifully i reccomend this for a beginner and even a expert

Disappointing

By lance h

from Tulsa, OK

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I own several other Fender guitars. I purchased this one as an emergency replacement while the bridge was being replaced on my other acoustic. The guitar arrived set up terribly. The nut grooves were so high that it caused all the notes to go sharp when the strings were depressed. The nut was also cut at the wrong angle and caused the high e to have a sitar like twang. The pickup did not work on the low end and it had a nasty fret buzz. The pickup problem was fixed but none of the other problems were covered by the manufacturers warranty. The repairs that were supposed to take a week ran four weeks instead. I would advise anyone against purchasing this guitar.

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I PURCHASED THIS GUITAR AND PLAYED IT FOR NEARLY TWO MONTHS, THE SOUND WAS GREAT, IT HAD NEW STRINGS WHEN I RECEIVED THE GUITAR. WHEN I STARTED TO CHANGE THE STRINGS AFTER A COUPLE MONTHS, THE PEGS WILL NOT HOLD AND YOU ARE UNABLE TO CHANGE THE STRINGS. I CONTACTED GUITAR CENTER AND BECAUSE IT HAS BEEN TWO MONTHS THEY INFORM ME THAT THE STRINGS SHOULD BE CHANGED IMMEDIATELY AND THEY WILL NOT STAND BY THE PRODUCT AND REPLACE OR FIX WHAT IS A MANUFACTURES DEFAULT IN THE GUITAR. I WOULD NOT RECOMMEND PURCHASING THIS GUITAR BECAUSE YOU WILL NOT BE ABLE TO CHANGE THE STRINGS WITHOUT THE PEGS FLYING ACROSS THE ROOM AND NOT HOLDING YOUR STRINGS IN AND GUITAR CENTER WILL NOT WARRANTY THIER PRODUCTS!!!!! VERY DISSATISFIED!!!!!

      Fender Concert Acoustic-Electric

      By Juan Zabala

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

When I bought this guitar a month ago, I wasn't expecting much because of the ridiculously low price tag. But I was instantly surprised at the excellent look, feel, and tone of this acoustic. It plays very easily without much fret buzz. I have played enough guitars to know that this is something special. I was most satisfied, however, when I plugged it in. Wow. Almost no tone loss, great acoustic sound, even handled effects well. Definitely a five-star guitar.

      Good For Intermediate Players

      By Austin

      from Pittsboro, NC

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've played many bad guitars, and this is absolutely NOT one of those. It's not by any means a GREAT guitar, but it's a great buy for the price. The tuner works well. The guitar doesn't play well with an effects amp while fingerpicking, but that's a bit too specific. The higher notes on the lower strings get some buzz while hammering-on. Overall, I love it for a first acoustic guitar. I recommend this for anyone who just wants to get an acoustic at an intermediate level or just to have it and maybe play from time to time.

            Excellent Entry-Level Guitar

            By BRET RUNNING

            from St Paul MN

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

The school where I work agreed to let me purchase ten guitars for my guitar class, provided the price was right. I selected this model, as I figured a cut-away model would help students transition to an electric guitar at some point (they all aspire to become metal masters). Let's be clear, I'm giving this guitar five stars as a student guitar. It's made well enough, but it remains to be seen how long they will last in the hands of novice, high-energy high school students. I was impressed with how easily it plays, and I very much appreciate the built-in tuner that comes with it. I took one home to try on my PA, and it sounds great. If you have someone who wants to learn, but you are not sure if it's something he or she will stick with, then this is a very affordable and playable option.

Comments about Fender FA-135CE Cutaway Concert Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

My wife picked this out as a first guitar for herself. Nice quality. OK sound. Easy to play. String spacing is more narrow than an epiphone (my preference) but she prefers it. Amazed that it had electronics for the price with a built in tuner. Plugged in, the sound wasn't amazing. Worth it for the tuner alone. Get way more than what you pay for. Great first acoustic for anyone.
