Overview

The Fender EXPO SYSTEM is a powered speaker array with an integrated subwoofer that delivers audiophile clarity and sonic detail in a portable, smallfootprint design easily set up in only seconds. The EXPO SYSTEM is the perfect sound system for DJs and instrumental performers. It's also ideal for education, worship and many other presentation applications. Line array systems offer more controlled, focused sound versus traditional loudspeakers that radiate sound in all directions at once. This focused sound translates into improved intelligibility and more consistent sound while reducing the potential for feedback.

The Fender Expo System powered speaker array features dual 6.5” subwoofers matched to a 1” neodymium horn and eight custom-designed 3” midrange drivers, delivering audiophile clarity and sonic detail with ease. The portable, small-footprint design easily sets up in only seconds, thanks to the multi-pin connection system with steel stability bars. The Expo System’s ultra-wide wedge-shaped sound dispersion pattern covers audiences of up to 300 with full, even sound and can be easily daisy-chained with multiple Expo Systems to cover larger audiences and spaces.

    Comments about Fender Expo System:

I use it as a monitor in a small rehearsal studio- 12 x 14' room with 5 musicians- it covers the entire room very well and allows us all to run all the instruments and vocals through the board (the drum kit is electronic.) All 5 musicians can hear everything clearly regardless of their position in the room.

      Comments about Fender Expo System:

My goal is to use this as part of solo act. I have ordered a Boss VE-8 and have a GoRack to use for the sound system. At times I will use a Boss pedal for some prerecorded electric music. So far I have used this in a studio set up and am using two Expo's for the sound. Nice, clean and solid with plenty of volume. The GoRack made all of the power difference to push the volume. FIRST CLASS SOUND.

      Comments about Fender Expo System:

I've had one of these for a couple of months now, and used it in different settings, so I have a good feel for it.

I use it for a weekly open mic, and it does the job. Just set it on the side of the performance area, run a small mixer in to it, and I get clear sound. This is a small room, but it's simple to use, and does the job, and since I don't need speaker stands or monitors, it's an easy setup

I work with a 4 piece variety band, and use this on one side. Another band member has a bose l1 compact, and they work ok together, but you can hear the difference. This unit has a better sound, wider frequency response, and much more bass available. Again, no need for monitors, which means easier set-up and a much cleaner stage. We sometimes play on small stages, and it's a big help.

finally, I took it out and ran sound for a 3 piece group. they run bass, acoustic guitar, fiddle/mandolin (mic'ed) and 3 vocals (with great harmonies) The response was fantastic. people in the audience said they loved the sound, and heard lyrics that they had only guessed at before. The trio was thrilled with the uncluttered stage, and the mando/fiddle player said she had never been able to hear her mando before due to feedback issues, and we got a great, clean sound which was easily heard on stage and in the audience. This was in a long, noisy bar that normally has sound issues, and I only used the one speaker. I'm sure working with 2 of these would be even better, but a bit pricey.

So, the slight downsides. The sub is somewhat heavy, 50 lbs, so quite a bit more than the bose system, and it comes without bags. The available bags are unpadded, and it's annoying trying to get the column in the floppy bag. Overall, though, I prefer it to the bose, would recommend it, and am considering getting a second one. The fact that the price, even after you buy the bags, is less than the competition is a plus in my book.

      Comments about Fender Expo System:

I recently bought two units, Sound is clear and warm mid to high, If you try to push the sound, It does easily get crunched.& muddy.... its hard for me to imagine to cover 300 audience with one unit, may be with the set of two....
Over all for $$$ , It's very good for small to med size venue, RCA input has flat eq & low amplification, So can't play loud, If you are going to plug in straight from the digital device

Incredible Full Sound, Vocal Clarity The Total Package For Dj & Musician

      By Nick

      from Boston Ma

      Comments about Fender Expo System:

Hi Everyone, After 40 years in the music business I was constantly having multiple systems and you know we all play different venues so we need different products to make the gig go correctly. I headed to my gig with this system and brought my powered 15s just in case because there arent many reviews or any that are Dj related and back up just in case.Well I just sold my 15s. This system has a fat low end sound combined with clarity that can be heard equally around the room and even behid the system so I no longer need a monitor.I played a party with 175 guests and wasnt even pushing the system.Yest just one of these.I play everything from Weddings at museums to country clubs to corporate events and events where a lot of speeches and trade shows.Im buying one more for the very large events. Vocal are very clear and the thing I was curios about was feedback issues.Well you know how you cant teach any guest or non pro mic control in 2 minutes when you hand them the mic well this is what happened, the person speaking stood about 2 feet from the system, tapped on the mic ,first put it about 24 inches almost at their waist and you could still hear them, then fully covered the mic with their hand which with another system would have created serious feed back.Nothing happened. Many many compliments on the system and clean clear audio, plenty of thump ! I run all of my laptop and whatever else through either my allen heath mixer. Well Im a believer into my 4th gig with this system , already ordered the second on, oh and I tried the Bose l1 system and the low end doesnt compare ! No super heavy gear, no stands, only a few wires fantastic thank you Fender ! Build quality is excellent and I got the GC pro with accidental damage just in case ! Thank you !

Possible Alternative to Similar Line Array Systems...?

      By Justin Pitts

      from Sioux Falls, SD

      Comments about Fender Expo System:

For years I have been looking at the line array Bose L1 Model II & Bose L1 1s but just never took the leap because of the amount of money it would take for one system. Finally, the Fender Passport Expo came into the spot light and for the price and specs, it seem to be able to do the job just fine. After purchasing it I tested it in my home with the rca inputs and it sounded alright. The sub vibrated my entire home. When I tested it at a local 10,000 square foot venue the next day I was again very impressed. however, it did lack a bit on the low end at a further distance, but the coverage was very impressive. The following weekend, I tested it at a wedding that had around 8,000 square ft venue with 20 foot high ceilings. The wedding had around 150 guest. For dinner/cocktail, it was perfect. during the dance, it was adequate. It worked well for the most part, but the louder you push the system the more the sub eats the power and it just seemed like it wasn't loud enough. However, I never got a complaint about the system from the clients and they were overly impressed with how clear it is. In theory, I'm going to be buying another fender expo so then possibly the volume may increase, according to the fender manual. However, I am also going to accompany the system with at least a dual 12-18 inch subs. In theory, if I bring back the sub volume on the system, it should free up more for the mids and highs and with the second expo should increase the volume by double. All in all, I enjoy the clarity of the system and it compactness along with the sleek style look. I am impressed with the sound out put even with a only 320(?) watt speaker system. I personally wouldn't use it for 300 people for a dance, but for vocal amplification for public speakers, it may be ok.
