Iۡve purchased this gig bag as a birthday gift for my bass player who recently purchased his new Fender Bass. I went Atlanta GuitarCenter on Black Friday to purchase a gig bag but, only product they had was by ۡRoad Runnerۡ. Iۡve looked both ۡRoad Runner Express Gig Bagۡ & ۡRoad Runner Roadster Gig Bagۡ which were priced for $39 & $49. I initially wanted to purchase ۡRoad Runner Roadster Gig Bagۡ which would cost me $49 for its padded shoulder strap & more pockets. However, I was very disappointed by the awkward construction of the ۡRoad Runner Roadster Gig Bagۡ where you have to open a large pocket to bring out shoulder straps. Furthermore, you can't zip back the pocket once you bring out straps. Therefore, you end up with a large floppy pocket that you donۡt know what to do about it. It was simply the most ridiculous design Iۡve ever seen. Compared to that, this bag has a lot more padding for protection and has no non-sense construction. There are a lot of pockets and they are very roomy. It even has extra lining inside of the bag to provide additional protection for headstock & pickups. Compared to $49 ۡRoad Runner Roadster Gig Bagۡ with awkward design, ۡFender Deluxe Gig Bagۡ was my obvious choice which cost me only $35.
This bag is constructed well, has roomy pockets for cords, notes, tuners, etc. Easy to carry both backpack style and handles. Only deduct I can say is the padding is not as thick as I'd expected, the product description says 4/5" and that's true, but represents total thickness on both sides not on any one side of the instrument. That said, I think this is a very good buy for the money, especially if this is your first gig bag and your bass is not a high end one and you're not doing a lot of heavy travel.
