Stop your search with this guitar package from Fender; an absolute great deal and simply the best value when compared to the rest. This is the first guitar I ever purchased, let alone played, and honestly, it is the perfect guitar. The quality of the sound and overall construction are both superb. The tuner which is included is excellent (a must have since you will want to tune it before each time you play/practice). I would suggest that you buy a new strap (I did not care for the one given), get some polish for the body of the guitar, and lemon oil for the neck). If you are also a beginner, I would recommend buying an instructional DVD (I did not like the one included). You will not be disappointed with this guitar.

The guitar sounds fine, but if you ever try to change the strings it will break. At first I thought it was my fault when I was pulling out the bridge string pin and it broke but then I had my brother's friend who has played for years take out the next one as a test and it still broke. The pegs are so weak if you ever tried to change the strings they will break and then half of it will be stuck in the guitar. As nice as it is getting a guitar for that value that sounds good, if it breaks so easily I'm not sure it's worth it. It is for the buyer to decide.

Comments about Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack:

My mother got this for me as a birthday gift and is my first guitar that I have, it sounds very well to this day and with Martin Guitar strings on it, it sounds very rich and clear. The neck profile is very comfortable on it, and the frets are just the right size for an acoustic guitar. It is very good for playing unplugged songs as well, overall the Fender DG-8S acoustic guitar is a very bright and rich sounding guitar, and has an amazing feel to it when being played.

Comments about Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack:

I've been playing guitar for about two years now, and this was the first one I bought. It has great quality and sound. I bought it about 10 months ago and it is still great. I would definetly recommend this guitar especially to a beginner. The guitar itself is amazing although, the case is extremely thin and the neck strap is a joke. It has failed me several times and I felt my heart drop once my guitar hit the floor. It even has a chip due to the neck strap. If you buy this guitar I strongly recommend replacing the neck strap. Other than that the tuner is great. It also tunes !y ukulele and it can tune basses and other instruments as well as guitar. Great guitar for a great price.

Great starter guitar. It's really great quality and easy for my son to play. We loved that it came with everything. It wasn't too price. Great first guitar for someone especially if you don't want to spend a fortune for all the different things, case, picks, strap, etc

            I'm Impressed!

            By Sean

            from Chicago, IL

Comments about Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack:

I went into guitar center one day with a buddy of mine to go check out some bass guitars since we are primarily bassists. I've been a bassist and a musician overall for about 9 years now. For years now I've been wanting to experiment and learn guitar and I've always thought that a great way to start was by buying and learning an acoustic guitar. As I enter the acoustic section I run into The Fender DG-8S acoustic. I tried it out and I really loved the sound quality and the feel of it.(This was after I had tried a few other more expensive acoustics.) I went to check the price thinking it was going to be expensive due to the great sound quality. I was shocked to see that it was only $199.99! and not only that, I was shocked to read that it was a value pack bringing everything. All these great things and great guitar for only $200?! I had to come the next day and buy it. I am very pleased with it! I play it everyday and it has stayed in tune ever since. All the accessories that come with it are great and useful! I seriously and strongly recommend this guitar not only for beginners but even for any level of guitarist.

            Great Guitar......

            By Stephen King

            from Lebanon, Ohio

Comments about Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack:

The Good; Solid (two piece) spruce top, excellent finish, narrower neck than most beginner guitars, easy to play, GREAT TONE, comes with gig bag (not the best but hey its something), kit comes with a much nicer winder than the Dunlop brand, and the tuner is now our go-to tuner. The Cons; NONE!! I recently aquired this guitar pack from a friend who decided he didn't have time to learn. It has been at my place for 2 months now and has not been tuned since I got it home. It simply stays in tune. It is played daily. Fender factory strings are actually not all that bad, but I still changed them for some Phosphor Bronzes (Light). This guitar sings. For a cheap guitar I was not expecting much, but it is now my go-to guitar. I would see no problem with someone gigging this at a small venue. I would rate this as more than just a beginner/intermediate guitar but not quite professional. If you want a good solid guitar you cant go wrong with this one, regardless how new/old to playing you are.

            Great for a Starter

            By Quiana Godek

            from NY, NY

Comments about Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack:

My husband wanted to learn to play the guitar, so I was looking to purchase a guitar for him for Christmas. I researched like crazy, considering a more expensive used guitar, a Seagull or Taylor. I went into the Guitar Center on 14th Street and spoke to the guy in the acoustic section and he completely listened to all my novice ideas and questions, he was so respectful and didn't make me feel ridiculous for not knowing anything about guitars. Bottom line, he said that there wasn't much difference in getting a $200 starter guitar vs. a fancier used guitar that would have originally cost $400-$500. Also, this package was very much worth it because it come with all the initial accessories that you need. I would have had to buy all that stuff in addition to the guitar if I went with a used one. My husband loves the cache of having a Fender and he has been playing it since he got it. I'm very happy with my purchase and the entire experience.

Comments about Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack:

When it comes to instrument construction, I know very little. I do however, understand good sound. This particular guitar sounds incredible, which surprised me due to the price of the starter pack. It is a sound product, so far, and I can't wait to learn more about the sounds this instrument can make. Enjoy!

Don't let the low price fool you

            By Christopher Lee

            from Vine Grove, KY

Comments about Fender DG-8S Acoustic Guitar Value Pack:

I played on a a few different Fender DG-8S guitars that people bought for their spouses or kids who wanted to play. I figured they'd need to be set up, but all the ones I played were set up great right out of the box. And they sound amazing. So good in fact, I asked for one for Christmas and my wife delivered. Don't let the cheap price fool you. This is an excellent guitar, especially for the price. Fit and finish is top notch, definitely not what I would have expected from a Fender starter pack or a Fender acoustic in general. The tuners are of the sealed Grover style, and the thing stays in tune wonderfully, even when banging out blues riffs and bends the way I do. The solid spruce top gives this thing a really full and rich sound, and you won't find a guitar that comes close to it in the price range. If you are looking for a great acoustic on the cheap, stay out of pawn shops or the second hand racks at your music shop and buy one of these instead. You won't be sorry. I can't say enough good things about this gem!
