Quality Is Great

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster Electric Guitar:

The quality of the guitar is great. The factory set up was a bit high on the action. Intonation was good on every string except the low E which you could hear on the 12th fret. The bridge carries 2 strings each so it seems impossible to get the intonation right on one string without affecting the other. But I guess that's how "old school" folks like it.

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Great guitar for the price. At first the neck feel a lil different, but once you get used to, it?s absolutely amazing. Great vintage look and sound. Buy this baby, you won't regret it.

Great guitar

By James Sgamba

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster Electric Guitar:

This guitar sounds pretty wonderful. Definitely makes me happy with my choice. The only bad thing about it, that keeps this from being five stars, is the fact that one of the saddles had a chunk chipped out of it.... It caused such a nasty rattle. Easy enough fix though, I just flipped it and now it sounds absolutely great.

Not The Fender I Remember. Leo would be ashamed.

By Bill

from Warrenton, Virginia

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I've been playing a guitar since the early 60's. My fist Fender was a 65 Telecaster. What a guitar. Absolutely perfect in quality, tone and durability. I'm now recently retired and I went back to tinkering with the guitar. I thought I would treat myself to a new Fender. What a mistake. This Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster is simply taking advantage of Fenders once good name. I ordered the first guitar over the phone to take advantage of a gift card. It was delivered with the metal staples missing on one end. The box was sealed with clear tape. Inspecting the guitar, the open G string rattled (buzzed) against the first fret - something obviously missed during the made in Mexico quality control. I packed it up and sent it back to GC. They graciously replaced it. While still enroute back to GC, they sent out the replacement guitar. The replacement arrived, box was sealed properly and everything looked good until I played the guitar. THE OPEN G STRING RATTLED (BUZZED) AGAINST THE 1ST FRET - JUST LIKE THE FIRST GUITAR! This is either a joke or a shame. Either way, I'm finished with Fender. The other two reviewers either got lucky or they're tied to Fender in some way. If you're thinking of buying this model in particular, or Fender in general, consider yourself forewarned.

MIM Classic '60s Tele: Worth the Wait!

By Chris

from Ann Arbor, MI

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I ordered the Classic '60s Telecaster in Olympic White in December of 2009 and after a lengthy delay due to the first guitar being damaged in transit, I finally took home the replacement one in May of 2009. I bought the Telecaster to get a classic sound, and I wanted a relatively inexpensive guitar that was similar to the one Jimmy Page used in the Yardbirds and on Led Zeppelin I. I have nothing but praise for this guitar. The neck is very comfortable, quite thin, which is what I prefer. The finish was flawless, and it was set up well when we took it out of the box. I play it though a Fender 15W Super Champ XD most of the time (sounds amazing on Voice 8), as well as on a 60W Fender Hot Rod Deville. The guitar sounds great overdriven or clean, and has a classic vibe all around. This is the perfect instrument to compliment a double humbucking guitar. Also, the tuners stay in tune well. If it were stolen, I would replace it in a heartbeat. Overall, I am quite impressed with the craftsmanship of the Mexican-made Fender instrument. I honestly enjoy playing this more than my Gibson Les Paul Classic, but that could be because of the ceramic pups that came with that model. I'm going to swap them out for Classic '57s eventually. Anyways, I highly recommend this instrument! I do wish the Tele came with a gig bag, but get a tweed case and you're good to go!
