I have had this guitar for about a month now and it is amazing. The tone on this thing rules. I also have a Gison les Paul custom and an american strat and this guitar compairs very well. Everything about it is top notch. The pickups sound great clean or distorted, the neck it bigger but not to big and the body is good too. This guitar is a little ligher then my americe which I like. overall this guitar is a great for people who are just strating out or who have played for years.

it looked amazing, a 60's candy apple red with rosewood fretboard and aged parts. i made it sound like hendrix with a cry baby through a marshall. the neck had a problem, though. the 17th fret would buzz like mad on the 1st string. this was the second guitar i got, the first also had a neck problem. play hendrix and pink floyd solos and try not to notice the buzz. can't. still, a good value for the buck. play it thoroughly before buying. check for the buzz.

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

After owning an Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro for a while, I started to somehow feel detached from it as time went on. I ended up playing it less and less. Rather than keeping it in its case and not playing it, I decided to walk in to my local Guitar Center yesterday to trade it in. They had a Classic Series 60s Stratocaster in lake placid blue hanging on the wall and I fell for it instantly. I plugged it in, played it for a while, and it justified my reason to buy it even more. The guitar looked really gorgeous and the aged plastic parts, the tuners, and the tinted neck and headstock really brought in the vintage look. The C shape neck played really smooth and comfortable for me. The tone and response was was simply amazing. It comes with a nice gig bag, but it'd probably be best to get a hardshell case for it. For the money, this is one of the best guitars out there in my opinion. If you're thinking of getting this guitar, you should go ahead and buy it. I know I'll be keeping mine for a long time.

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I'm primarily an acoustic guitar player. But every now and again, I find myself wanting to play an electric guitar. Before today, I used to own an Epiphone Les Paul Traditional Pro. Although it was a great guitar, I drifted away from it over time, playing it less and less. So, I walked in to my local Guitar Center earlier today and traded the LP in for one of these 60s Stratocasters.

What an awesome guitar!!! I bought the lake placid blue version, and it is gorgeous! The C shape neck plays smooth and comfortable. The tone and response are simply amazing! After playing it for a couple hours, I already knew this guitar was a definite keeper.

Don't let the fact that it's an MIM steer you away from buying this guitar; if you're thinking of getting one of these guitars, do yourself a favor and get one. You won't have a shred of regret.

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This was an all around great instrument. I was impressed, particularly with the sound of the pickups and the paint job/look. I've played some BAD Mexi-Strats. This was good for a US! THE Strat sound was all there and it played well, although I would have worked with the action a tad. The only drawback, if you're not used to it, could be the rounder fretboard radius, which will lead to mild buzzing on bends. I personally love it, as it fits the curvature of my hand/fret fingering better. Great for using your thumb over the top, Hendrix-style. If you want a reasonably priced STRAT, which also has some mojo and x-factor, this was it for me!!

      All Strat!

      By James

      from L.A. area

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have owned and played many Strats including my share of AVRI '62s and American Standards. I don't recall any that immediately felt so familiar, comfortable and playable. Something about the neck profile just feels sooo right! The fit and finish is beyond reproach and I like the vintage appointments (aged plastic, mint green pick guard, 7.5" fret radius, etc. ). I haven't noticed any problems with the fretwork and the setup was right up to Fender specs. Everything about this guitar just begs to be played. There are so many pickup combinations available on Strats that I'm not sure I can adequately describe the "quintessential Strat sound" but I know what sounds good to me and I was immediately impressed with the tone from the "Vintage-Style Single coil" pickups. Using the tone and volume controls on the guitar and my Deluxe Reverb '65 RI amp a wide range of pleasing tones are readily available from the stock pickups. I'm curious what a set of CS 69's or Pure Vintage '65s would sound like in this guitar but I'm really in no hurry to spend the money for a change right now as I have no complaints as is. Bottom line is that I'm very satisfied with my Classic '60s Stratocaster (in Black). If you're in the market for a new Stratocaster do yourself a favor and find one of these to play.

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Back in 1983 I bought one of Fender's first reissue Strat's ('57 RI). This MIM Classic Series 60's model is every bit as gorgeous a Strat as the MIA reissue I had back in the early 80's.
The sunburst finish is perfect, great neck, and Strat-y pickups. It's got the 60's look and also the sound! Love the rosewood fingerboard.
I've got 2 other MIM Fenders (Deluxe Nashville Tele and Deluxe Roadhouse Strat). They are solid guitars I wouldn't hesitate to record with or play live. ONLY negative is no case (gig bag), but that's easily fixed. Fender (G&G) Brown Tolex case to complete the 60's look/feel. Musician's Friend had the best price on these (Brown Tolex), too!

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

Purchased 57 classic player and it was wonderful right out of the box. I then purchased the 60 classic player but the strings buzzed between 5th and 12th frets and the intonation was way off. Tried to set intonation but the saddle heights could not be adjusted. Allen wrench supplied with guitar did not fit saddle adjustment screws nor did any Allen wrench sets I have fit. I returned the 60 classic to Musicians Friend with no hassles.

        Great Feel, Great Sound

        By David Gilman

        from Lake Forest, CA

Comments about Fender Classic Series '60s Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've tried many strats over the years, and the '60's Strat is the most fun to play of all. The fast neck with the tight radius (7-1/4") and the rosewood fretboard give it a feel so comfortable you won't want to put it down. The pickups have plenty of color and output to give you a classic strat tone. At this price, it's a bargain. Buy this, and you won't be sorry.
