I've been playing guitar since 1985. I've played a few different guitars through this amp. Sounds amazing with a les paul w the burstbuckers. Sounded Dull when my Son played throught it with his $200 Ibanez. But I lent him my les paul and he sounded great. The amp responds perfectly with good guitars, not so much with cheaply made guitars.

At first I loved this amp. Good clean sound and lots of options with the on board effects and modeling. Decent price. I've had mine for a little over two years now, and recently the gain channel started cutting in and out. It sometimes sounds like someone is playing with the voice knob while I am playing. Of course that is the channel I was using most. Also, even when I use the footswitch to turn effects off, they still stay on from time to time. I quickly tired of the on board effects, and that was a main reason for purchasing this amp. I tried to contact fender for some advice, and never heard back. The clean channel is still working fine, and I still use this amp daily, but I got it hoping that being a fender, it would be more reliable. I suggested this amp to some friends and one bought it, I only hope his lasts longer than mine. I might still recommend it to someone, but I'd have to mention that they could have some trouble. I added an output jack to mine (that voids the warranty) so I can disconnect the amp, so now it is basically just an extension cabinet for my more dependable amp heads. Also I plan on putting new speakers in it, so I kinda feel like I paid for a box that I could have made in my own woodshop.

Everything you could ask for.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have several amps that I use in my home studio and this one is by far my "go to" amp. It delivers such a wide range of sounds that it makes the others almost obsolete. It can go hard and crunchy to clean in the blink of an eye. The 100 watts of power it packs can blow the windows out, but doesn't lose tone at lower volumes. If I were still playing gigs I'd pack this amp up for every show. And the great thing is, this amp is affordable to almost anyone who needs an amp.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

Bought this amp after seeing good reviews. Was tired of lugging around my thirty year old, ninety pound Peavey that I thought I'd never replace. This amp blew me away. Loud, clean or dirty, love the variety of sounds. On board effects good enough to retire some pedals. I never expected all this from a transistor amp. The more I play it the better it gets. Minor nit, it's a little noisy with an IPod and head phones plugged in at same time. But I didn't buy it to use as a headphone amp. Never owned a Fender amp until this one. Not disappointed at all!

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

Purchased this guitar amp so I would not have to lug my old 90 pound Fender tube amp around for small gigs. i found it packs a punch and can stand up volume wise to all other instruments when on stage. For the price you cannot go wrong and it is a lot lighter. I found if you place it on a amp rack tilted back it really sounds good.
        I would buy another one.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

Love tubes but it was getting costly with the issues that arise with tubes and the heat they produce. This amp has a great "clean" sound and a couple of the modeling settings are pretty good, ie the tweed and blackface settings. The reverb and delay sound good to me. I use pedals to get the sound I want, making this a good amp for my needs.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

Had been reading alot of reviews, so I thought I'd give this amp a shot. First off, I have nothing bad to say about this amp & it's features. For someone wanting alot of options for finding their sound, this is it. A great selection of voicings, and pretty nice effect selection, too. Loud? Oh yes. Alot of bass on tap, plenty of treble & mids to get you close to where you want to be. Weight was pretty manageable (even for a heart problem like me!) All in all, a nice amp for a reasonaable price. But, it wasn't for me. I guess I didn't know it at first, but once you get used to a valve amp (I've had 'em) you just get used to it, I guess. Yes, there's a few quirks with tubes & maintenance, but you have to do that with the vehicle that gets you to the gig, too - right? Just part of the territory. But, imo, well worth it. I just bought another Fender Pro Junior & returned the Champion. Tubey's just have that certain something, and I've found it with the pure, simple Pro Junior. A couple of pedals for specific purpose - and I'm finally there. Kudos to Fender for a really great solid state amp, tho. Looks are great, too. If solid state is for you with no muss, no fuss - check this amp out. It's a great deal. For me, it was missing that certain something. Thanks to the guys @ GC Pgh for the great service!

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

Love the sound of this amp. A little to powerful for my use but at mid to low volume still sounds great and even accents the effects I'm using. Both the clean and the overdrive channels are easy to use and sound great with no pedals needed.
For even more flexibility adding some simple pedals, delay, chorus, acoustic simulators sound great as well.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

Just got this amp and for my needs, singer playing rhythm and piano, my requirements are not that of a smoking lead guitarist. I really love the clean sounds and effects... slap back delay is great among many others and I get the right crunch when a song calls for it. Very clean and more power than needed considering we mic everyone. Would not need to in many small to medium clubs, but we still prefer to. My only concern which remains to be seen is that I have had two Fender amps and after 9 to 12 moths each started to have loud ground buzz issues which were fixed by a service center by re- soldering the whole back panel, and then they were great. They say all Fender amps come poorly soldered from the factory and eventually need the fix. I guess we'll see. Great amp for my needs !

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

I recently purchased this amp with the intention of having a back up amp for my fender jr. After 40 years of playing (I am in noway a pro but I can keep up with a lot of folks. )I have learned that amps can quit on you at any time and lower end tube amps are even more likely. I play in a Blues band and as we are aging the excess volume is becoming more of an issue especially in the smaller venues. like I said before this was for back up but I decided to try it out a few times and I am absolutely impressed with its performance. It is very simple to use , I set it on a black face dirty setting with about 5 on gain and a little reverb and that was all it took to get some great Strat blues tones. The great thing about this amp is I can use it for practice at really low volumes and then take out for a show and really not change anything and get the same results. NICE. I am a long time tube guy like most others but I am also a realist and if I can get great sound and not have to carry a bunch heavy stuff and keep a bunch of different amps around, hey I'm all for it. This weighs 40 pounds, not bad compared to its tube counterpart.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

I have had this amp for almost a year now and I truly enjoy it. Its LOUD so be careful. I love the clean tones from the clean side of this amp with a touch of the delay, the tap button is great for customizing your sounds. I do tend to find myself using the 3rd setting (more distorted) on the Tweed / distortion side and have created some great vintage rock sounds. If you want to go crazy kick in the 2nd Metal setting for a more modern hard rock / metal sound. I am not a novice and own several other amps including a Marshall DSL100 which I also love. This is a great amp with some cool effects for a decent price.

Use this product at a loud factory environment to play music through the aux input. Rarely have to put it at 50% volume for the entire shop to hear, this speaker is loud. The only negative on it is that the handle seems like it won't be durable enough, but no problems so far after a few months of use.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

I am very picky when it comes to spending large amounts of money, especially on anything related to guitar, and I do not regret buying this amp. The features of the amp are great, the amp is extremely versatile. The first channel is great for more simple, clean tones, then when you hit that channel switch it gets kicked up a notch. The voice knob on the second channel is really what makes this amp so unique, it gives you tones like Metallica, to Led Zeppelin to The Beatles just by turning this one knob, and it doesn't stop there. Once you get your voice set, you have the Gain, Treble, Mid, and Bass knobs to fiddle with to really get that tone the way you want it, and then add some cool FX with the FX knob which has eight different effects to play with which can be adjusted using the FX Level knob and "TAP" button which adjusts the "speed" of the FX that you are using. The amp also has an AUX port, a convenient 3.5mm headphone port (no need for adapters for newer gear), as well as a pre out and pwr in. Another great thing about this amp is that you can gig with it, being 100 watts, very loud and for the price (300 dollars) its very versatile. I definitely recommend this amp.

This amp covers pretty much every distortion you need from jazz to metal. With the clean tone being modeled after the Fender Reverb, the clean channel is killer although you need to learn to control the cleans or else the will sound like farts. If you are an aspiring punk rocker for a Ramones/Green Day tone like me, this amp has that tone at a full-fleged 100 watts. This amp is what a beginner needs and makes an excellent practice/small gig amp for pros. The versatile nature of this amp is mouth watering.

Fenders like a blackface Super and silverface Deluxe plus a few tweed clones (Cox Amps?RIP Brian Cox)?but, I don?t dare take them out to play. This amp will never replace my valve amps, but WOW this is great amp. It?s a convergence of technology and cost effective production that is almost too good to be true. How could a solid state amp get such good reviews? It preforms like an amp many times its cost. But, it?s not great because it?s cheap?that?s just the icing. This thing sounds great. I love the punchy clean tones of the Twin Reverb channel and even more the thick blackface tones on tap from the second channel. I could care less about the British tones, but here if you need them. The gain control sweeps from clean to super crunch without ear splitting volume, but that?s on tap too. This amp doesn?t push as much air as a real Twin, but it?s pretty darn close. The effects and effect combinations are well conceived and realistic and the included foot switch makes the cannel and effect switching easy and useful. The cosmetics are great and the weight is only 40 lbs.! If you own only one amp for practice, recording, and gigging this is it. The combination of portability, versatility and affordability, is unmatched in the market today.

I always wanted a decent amount of wattage at a low price and tried this one out at Guitar Center and it is sounded and still sounds great. The clean channel is exceptional and the other channel has so many effects and mods. The foot switch to change between channels is very handy. This is such a great sounding solid state that I don't even want want to think about tube amps again. I only wish it had a built in tuner like my little fender mustang practice amp. You can't beat the sound and power at this price.

I have been researching amps for about a year and finally purchased this Fender amp. I am so glad I did, the sound is great and it is very easy to use. I play a lot of clean, but do have some crunch setup that I can use with the foot switch. This amp is well worth the money. Buy one you won't be sorry!

I recently bought this amp to replace my Crate V32. I'd been having constant repair problems with the Crate and simply got tired of the cost of maintaining a tube amp. While I love the sound of a tube amp, its expensive to upkeep. I have to say that I was blown away by the performance of the Champion 100. The clean channel is very clean and perfect for my pedal board. I like the sound of the amp models but I use the overdrive channel as simply a clean boost. And it works perfectly for that. Overall, the tone of this amp is very good, with plenty of volume for clubs. It sounds great mic'd. Its an extremely easy to use amp. I bought it on a Saturday afternoon and only had a few minutes to play through it in the store. I gigged with it that night and it did not let me down. This amp is very well worth the money and its very reasonably priced, putting it in a price range for anyone to be able to afford a reliable, great sounding guitar amp. I would recommend this amp to any guitar player.

Comments about Fender Champion 100 Guitar Combo Amp:

I was completely surprised by the warmth and tonality of this amp. I was looking for an amp with a lot of good clean head room as I'd be running my digital effect preamp thru it. I wanted to get a nice reliable solid state, and I liked the overall look of the Fender Champion, reminds me of a 70's Twin. When I plugged in I was blown away by the warmth and tonality both in the clean and dirty channel. The dirty channel was especially pleasing as I was able to dial in plenty of drive, again sounding very warm and "glassy" without getting muddy and gritty as most solid states are know for. The Champion is incredibly user friendly too. I had no problem dialing in great usable tone in no time. Now I'm finding that I prefer the tone of the amp to my preamp unit. Go figure. I would highly recommend this amp to any working musician looking for a reliable, good looking 2x12 combo. My only complaint is that there is no line out for an extension speaker cabinet. It would have been cool to pair this with a 2x12 cabinet.
