Overview

The fabulous-looking California Series T-Bucket 400CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar stands out from the pack with elegant aesthetics and rocking Fender tone. This stage-ready instrument makes a strong sonic and visual statement with its slick contemporary style and robust onboard active electronics. An exciting alternative to traditional acoustic guitars, this guitar is for the player who wants something different than the norm.

The heart and soul of an acoustic guitar is the top, which must be able to resonate freely for natural sounding, dynamic tone. This guitar incorporates quartersawn scalloped bracing, artfully arranged to reinforce the crisp-sounding premium-grade laminated maple top while allowing it to vibrate freely for greater projection and responsiveness. The premium-grade laminated lacewood back adds a striking look and works in tandem with the maple top to create full, well-balanced sound that shines in any playing situation. For those that want to hit the stage, the California Series T-Bucket 400CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar features an onboard Fishman Isys III pickup system with active preamp, tuner, volume and tone controls for shaping the amplified voice of the guitar to match any venue. The bound maple neck sports a comfortable "C"-shaped profile that works well for any playing style, as well as a 20-fret rosewood fingerboard with a Graph Tech NuBone nut for enhanced sustain while eliminating string binding that can cause tuning issues. The rosewood bridge incorporates NuBone saddles for clarity and tonal consistency along with precise intonation.

The aesthetic appointments include a premium-grade figured top, new fingerboard inlay, rosette and headstock graphics, creating contemporary style that stands out in a crowded field of “me-too” designs. A hard-rocking acoustic-electric guitar with premium sound and sophisticated visual appeal, the California Series T-Bucket 400CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar is ready to tear it up on stage or in the studio.

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 400CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am using this guitar to learn how to play better, I took lessons years ago but have forgotten most of it and wanted a guitar with a nice tone that wouldn't break the bank, plays well either plugged in or unplugged. It was a showroom model but after inspecting it found no scratches dings or wear what so ever, it does need better strings seeing people played it and they look a little corroded but I'm lucky it wasn't played too much. Nubone nut and bridge setup, stays in tune. Gave 4 stars only due to the laminate construction. I don't like the look of the viking style bridge but the Quality of the sound makes up for it. There is no pick guard but that doesn't concern me too much as I am going to upgrade to a full wood guitar after I learn how to play better. I wanted a little more bass but I'm thinking that maybe being hooked to an amp I might be able to a get a deeper sound out of it. My first choice was the Yamaha FG800 but all they had was showroom models that were scratched and dinged. Kind of shows how popular that model is just by the wear on the showroom models, also solid wood. It wasn't what I planned to buy so I had to sit down and research it on my laptop, of course most reviews are 5 stars because they filter out the negative ones so you have to really search for bad reviews. Only a few Professional musicians gave less than great reviews but they still had one for practice or not to beat up there expensive guitar, that tells you something. Guitar center needs to carry more inventory, I shouldn't have had to buy a showroom model, they should have had them in stock , in the box.

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 400CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

This guitar plays very well straight from the factory and exceptionally well after it's set up. Great tone, sustain and flexibility when it comes to mixing the on-board bass, mid and treble. It's great having a built-in tuner.

          • Great for Live performance

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 400CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Was looking for an additional, reliable acoustic guitar (without breaking my budget) for Live performances. The Fender T-Bucket 400-CE has tremendous tone without amplification. Brought my buddy who is also a professional sound engineer and after playing several acoustic guitars, his head turned when he heard the resonance of the strings and the quality of the tone. Also sounds great thru an amp with the Fishman pickups. Would definitely recommend this guitar to my fellow musician friends.

          Fantastic guitar at this price

          By TK

Comments about Fender California Series T-Bucket 400CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I tried to talk myself out of this guitar a few times (it's not a solid spruce top and it's not a Martin or a Taylor, etc.) but I just love the way this plays and the way it sounds. Don't get me wrong, if you want to spend more money and get a Martin or Taylor, then go for it. But for the price, this sounds better than anything in this price range. I played it and compared with a few other solid spruce tops (Yamaha, Fender, and others) there in the Guitar Center, as well as some of the low-end Taylor's and Martin's, and the sound and play-ability were right up there with the Taylor, in my opinion. So, I couldn't justify spending several hundred dollar more when this guitar sounded so great!

The action was fantastic, right out of the box. It sounds nice and crisp, unplugged or plugged in. And I went with the V3 version because it looks distinct and very beautiful. If you are on the fence - then trust me, you won't regret getting this guitar.
