Winding strings by hand used to be such a pain - litterally. My wrists would feel cramped from all that winding. But no more thanks to this string winder. It's inexpensive, looks great (I got the green one), and makes string changes a snap. The built-in bridge pin puller can really make a difference for those stubborn pins. This string winder is easily worth the small cost.
This Fender California Cranks string winder is one of the cheapest winder out there and it work as well as the others. It will save you time and effort for sure in changing strings.
I've been playing for about 40 years and never bothered with gizmos but this little item cuts the time to change a set of strings in half. And the bridge pin puller is an added bonus. I've dinged up more bridge pins and bridges using a pair of pliers to pull out stuck pins than I care to admit to so this little tool rates pretty high on my list of the best things man ever invented.
its great! but dont go to fast. Mine build up friction in its pivoting chamber and melted to where it was like impossible to turn. so i had to unscrew it and take and exacto knife and scrape away the debris in it. but just take it easy and you should be fine. This saves many sore wrists XD ... get it.
This product offers superb utility at a minimal cost. Their is really no reason to spend money on a more expensive string winder; this works just as good if not better than any other combination string winder and peg remover I have ever used. Good price, great product.
It works well and does what we ask it to. The only problem I came across was that I had to go to my tool box to find a wire snapper for when I was tune tunning my guitar. I would say there's 2 ways you can go about with this, you either : get a winder with a wire snapper on it, or you buy this one and keep a wire snapper in your toolbox whenever you restring. Since I do not always restring I would use this, if I was always stringing guitars, I would get the winder with the wire snapper attatched. Other than that, good product designed to do what it is supposed to.
