I had looked at a LOT of 12 string guitars on line as well as the companies that sold them. I ended up buying the Fender CJ290SCE-12 from Guitar Center after looking at their reviews and talking with a rep on the phone. My concerns were the way a guitar may come set up, or not set up, if it would really sound the way I thought it should, and if it might have some defects that would be a problem. I am happy to tell you that it came set up to perfection, it sounds wonderful, and I looked it over till my eyes ached, and I can't find a flaw in it anywhere. Good job, Guitar Center, you've done yourself proud. And by the way, your man "Josh" on the phone was excellent! He represented you very well!
I played a lot of 12 Strings looking for a certain sound. I have a Taylor 210ce (6 String) so I wanted that bright punch for leading worship but couldn't find what I was looking for in my budget. I ordered this guitar on line, had it shipped to our local GC and they helped me set it up and gave me time to play it to see if I wanted to keep it. I loved the sound right away and the action was good right out of the box. The tuner is great and it holds tune really well. The neck is a bit heavy but not bad. It is a great looking guitar and the Fishman electronics are awesome. Thanks Fender and GC!!
I had been looking for a 12 String for about six months. I have a 6 String Taylor 210ce so I wanted a bright punch like that in a 12 String. The Taylor 12 was out of reach for my budget so I played the lower end Martin, the Takamine, an Ovation and a few all laminate guitars. I ordered this Fender on-line and had it shipped to the closest GC Store. The guys in GR helped me get it set up and let me play for a while even bringing some other guitars in to compare. I really like this guitar a lot. The neck is a little heavy but the action is good, the low end booms, the tuner rocks and the Fishman acoustics I like as much as the ES on my Taylor...and it looks great. It's a lot of guitar for the money. Thanks GC!!
