Went to GC prepared to spend about $600. Played a bunch of $400 - $600 acoustics. This was in the used gear rack and the inexpensive price scared me from picking it up. My girlfriend suggested I grab and play it. What a jewel (her and this guitar)!
Keep in mind that most (if not all) acoustic guitars will require a "set-up" out of the box. This is due to the fact some guitar players (like Stevie Ray Vaughn)prefer heavy guage strings. Others (like me) go light to medium. The bridge on my CD60 is lowered considerably for low action , but not too low as to create buzz when mashing strings.
I have the black model and removed the pick guard. The solid spuuce wood top (the part with the hole in it) gives a nice full sound. Laminate tops tend to be on cheaper guitars and generally don't sound as well as solid tops. The neck is truss rod adjustable.Quality heads (tuner pegs). Smooth binding. The only thing I may change out is the nut to a composit bone or similar.
This would be a great starter guitar, and should hold a fairly good value if the beginner is like 90% of all beginners and the guitar collects dust until you decide to sell it. Buy junk and you will be trying to sell junk. This Fender aint junk. Buy it and play the snot out of it!

Neck is too skinny, needs to be wider.

Going to return it because it doesn't meet my standards.

Just Perfect!

By Jesse Ramey

Comments about Fender Classic Design Series CD-60CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got my first acoustic about 3 and a half years ago, and it was a generic Yamaha F325, but about half a year later decided I needed an acoustic/electric. After my first acoustic, I decided to look up information, reviews and thoughts from various sources, and found this nice piece for a good price, featuring a cutaway and electronics. I recognized Fender as a very strong brand, and located one. I tried it, and became attached, it has such a great feel and tone that I couldn't put it down. The sound is perfect plugged in and unplugged, so you get that great quality at a performance or on the fly. The action is at a perfect level for me; I can get to distant frets quickly and nail them without receiving any string buzz. through all of it's life and all of the time I've played it, there is no neck warp, no damage, and it still stays in tune. The guitar sounds wonderful in any style, having a warm tone that is beautiful in any musical piece. Unlike with some acoustic/electric guitars, the battery is easily accessible, and the built-in tuner is the best I've seen, set in a perfect viewable spot so you can switch between tuning and playing without needing to move. The cutaway adding aesthetic appeal and easier access to higher frets is icing on the cake! I highly recommend this guitar, no matter what level you are at.

    Pretty Great!

    By Nate Spangler

    from Albuquerque, New Mexico

Comments about Fender Classic Design Series CD-60CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I've been looking at acoustic guitars for a while at around the price range of $200-$300. I went into my local Guitar Center and this was the first guitar to catch my eye. But I didn't get it the first time I saw it but, I got it around the 7th time I went in. Anyways every time I went in it was still there and it seemed it was yelling my name. So the last time I went in there someone was playing it and I got a little upset. So the second he put it down I went, picked it up and made it mine. I took it home that same day and plugged it into an Acoustic AG15 amp and I fell in a deeper love with it then I did the first time I saw it. I highly recomend it! It looks great and sounds even better! I hope this review helps.. Worth the bucks..

Comments about Fender Classic Design Series CD-60CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I am completely satisfied. I had a plain acoustic Ibanez and I got this one for Christmas this year. The shipping was really quick. The guitar is gorgeous. The tuner works great. Sounds fine when played, too. Altogether, great guitar.

Fender CD60CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar Sunburst

    By Harold Stull

    from Horseheads, N.Y.

Comments about Fender Classic Design Series CD-60CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

Guitar was pretty much as expected. Already own a regular CD60 and love it for the price range. The only disappointment was that stupid "CHEEP" plastic bottom strap peg. Really! I like putting Dunlop strap locks on all my guitars and with a half inch hole in the bottom where you put than plastic peg... That rules that out. Come on REALLY! What did you guys save with that peg as compared to another lethal one and screw?

Comments about Fender Classic Design Series CD-60CE Cutaway Dreadnought Acoustic-Electric Guitar:

I got this acoustic during a sale a few years ago for only $200 with the case included. Best deal I have ever got at Guitar Center. This is a great guitar for the price, and made well enough to be a decent gigging guitar. I recommend it.

Great guitar love the sound second guitar I picked up in the store amd right away loved it. I have a hard time making decision but this one was easy. Great guitar to just jam with friends or practice with. Probably gone with the all mahogany if I had known this was laminated though. Real wood is always the best, but this guitar performs just as good
