Fender SCE

By Matt

from Pekin, IL

This guitar is worth A LOT more than asking price. I bought his guitar in December and I can't seem to put it down! The materials are very meticulously selected. For those of you looking at the 140sce or even the 280 for comparison....dont. The 360 is a little more expensive but you get twice the quality. From the grain of the spruce, to the exceptional quality of rosewood chosen for the neck.. its all gorgeous. If you notice the rosewood on the 140s, etc is really light, grainy, and red. The rosewood on these 360s is almost looks like ebony...perfect! The tone is fantastic... warm, crisp, and best of all it projects with great intonation even when plugged in.... which brings me to the stock electronics. They are great, ...mostly. My only complaint is the onboard tuner (although very handy), is not terribly accurate...its not awful, and far from worthless. But it could have used an upgrade. The pickups however are surprisingly good... plugged in they pick up each string's sound individually. If you've played acoustic-electrics long enough you know how some tend to get "muddy" and wash all the sounds together...this guitar does not. Sounds great! I own an Alvarez AF60CK...small body guitar. I was looking for something that would be a lot louder unplugged, with a better tone and easier playability....and this 360SCE was perfect. Has just about the look and feel AND sound of a Taylor 314ce, for a fraction of a price. I would recommend this guitar to almost anybody who plays. Its not QUITE as well-built as a Taylor or Martin... but for the price, I wouldn't even think twice!
