Bassbreaker series guitar amplifiers continue Fender's storied lineage with a kind of "parallel evolution" that evokes the dawn of hard rock. Bassbreaker breaks away from tradition with features that add up to pure tube greatness. Powerful and unpretentious, the Bassbreaker 007 packs quite a punch for its size.

Fueled by a pair of 12AX7 preamp tubes and a single EL84 power tubes for 7 watts of true Class-A amplification, the Bassbreaker 007 Combo features traditional gain and tone controls, and an interesting option—switchable vintage-style treble booster for increased overdrive and added harmonics. Higher gain settings of the 007 are just plain fun, but never mask the dynamics and identity of the guitar.

The onboard 1/4" line output connects directly to recording gear or a larger amp. Bold visual touches include block Fender logo, dark grey lacquered tweed covering, leatherette handle and big, bold pointer knobs.

Loaded with complex, refined sound, the agile Bassbreaker 007 Combo provides delectable crunch that's shaken, not stirred. Add the optional booster footswitch and protective amp cover to complete this globe-hopping ensemble.

Features Include
•Moderately sized, with 7 watts of big tone
•Single EL84 power tube, true class “A” operation Vintage-style treble-booster circuit switch on front panel for extra gain and harmonics (also operated by optional single-button footswitch)
•Line output (1/4”) for use with recording equipment or larger amp
•Single 10” Celestion® Ten Thirty speaker

Bassbreaker Series

The late-'50s tweed-covered Fender Bassman is often called the grandfather of all guitar amps. What started earlier that decade as the companion amp for the Precision Bass actually became one of the most beloved guitar amps of all time, thanks to its simplicity and versatility, its wide dynamic range and warm tube overdrive, its full-frequency stage-filling power and its rugged roadworthiness.

Fender tweed amps evolved into the brown, blonde, blackface and silverface models of the 1960s. Along with the dramatic evolution of their look, the amps were redesigned each time to sound brighter and cleaner.

New Bassbreaker Series guitar amplifiers continue that fascinating lineage with yet another sound and style, a kind of "parallel evolution" in which time-honored Fender amp DNA results in a satisfyingly dirtier tone that evokes the dawn of hard rock.

The new series takes the 45-watt 1959 Bassman design and breaks it with features including the early Fender block-letter logo, black tweed covering, and refined pointer knobs plus power tubes hinting at the U.K. amps that "borrowed" Fender circuits in the 1960s. The sound is one of pure and unadulterated tube greatness.

Comments about Fender Bassbreaker 007 1x10 7W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Have been on the small watt tube amp search for a couple of months now, bought a vox ac4c1 with the 12 inch speaker absolutely no bass at all returned it,bought the Blackstar ht5rh not impressed with it also, then i started checking into this Fender Bassbreaker 007 combo and it is a keeper looks unreal in person for a small amp, clean sound is pretty dark until you bush the treble boost button and there it is great Fender clean, cant believe this 10 inch speaker is putting out this much bass, highly recommend this amp.I bought mine used in excellent condition gonna have to start saving for the 15 watt version now.

Comments about Fender Bassbreaker 007 1x10 7W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Perhaps a little expensive for what it is. I'm surprised how much I've been enjoying this great little amp. Perfect practice amp. I bought this for a quiet amp to play after the rest of the house has gone to bed. It' won't replace my fender DDRI but I have been surprised as to how many tones I get out of it. I sought out a decent reverb pedal but almost feel that it didn't need it. Some have advertised this amp as sounding like a blues breaker from Marshall- Not to sure about that but it does sound darn good.

Comments about Fender Bassbreaker 007 1x10 7W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

Saw this Fender Bassbreaker 007 combo amp at Guitar Center and decided to try it out, and was I surprised. This little amp had the sound I was looking for. 2-12AX7 Preamp Tubes and 1- EL84 Power Tube with a 10 inch Celestion speaker that gives you those rich harmonics and overdrive tones. When turning up the gain for more break up I was able to control it by lowing the master volume knob without loosing sound quality. Satisfied with what I'm hearing?...bought it, oh yeah. Also bought the single footswitch for the treble boost, it adds upper harmonics to the tone and boosts the output level for extra preamp crunch. Is it loud? Plenty for what I'm doing, there's a 1/4 inch Line Out so you can connect to a sound system, larger power amp or recording gear without sacrificing sound. So if your looking for that British style crunch sound in a Fender amp here it is. Keep on Jammin!

Comments about Fender Bassbreaker 007 1x10 7W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

This amp is simply incredible. Some critics note a lack of bass, which I think is insane. I have the bass down to 4 and it is still quite robust. I also own a DRRI and, to be honest, I turn to the 007 more than the DRRI (I play a Strat with a TBX and 25db mid boost installed). The clean sound is noy quite the equivalent of a DRRI or a tweed Fender, yet it is definitely usable and warm. The amp does break up early (which is the point), so I would not lean on it for sparkly Fender cleans. The distorted sound is where this amp shines-even without the excellent treble boost switched on, you can get ridiculously creamy, warm yet articulate breakup that gets you from classic early Clapton blues tones to 70s Lynyrd Skynyrd and AC/DC tones. Recommended for any blues and classic rock players. Limited application for jazz, country, and metal guitarists.

Comments about Fender Bassbreaker 007 1x10 7W Tube Guitar Combo Amp:

I can't stop gushing over this amp. I tell all my friends and family (most of whom don't care) about how much I love this thing. My wife doesn't get why it costs so much, but I actually think it's a steal, even at full retail. This is a 100% tube Class A amplifier, and at only 7 watts, this means you can easily overdrive the output stage tubes, which is every guitarist's dream come true. I can get such a good tone from this at such low volumes, that I am still in shock every time I play though this. It's perfect for recording and it's no slouch in output volume either, though I wouldn't want to gig with it unless there was a PA system micing the amp. I can "dime" the amp too and not blast my ears out (which, by the way, sounds AWESOME).

Let's, see what else...it takes pedals really well, it has a speaker output, and even a line out for recording (though I don't know why you would want to do that -- it's a useless throw-in feature IMO). A nice addition would be an effects loop, but that might actually ruin the purity of the class-A sound. In my opinion, the absence of a reverb tank also improves the sound and reduces hum/noise. I've been playing though this with both my USA Fender Stratocaster and Gibson LP Custom, and both sound wonderful...no annoying peaks or dips, just pure tone and lots of touch sensitivity. I have a (now vintage) Fender Blues DeVille 60-watt 2x12, and this is so much better for real-world applications. You can play everything from country to metal with this thing.

If you're seasoned pro or a novice, do yourselves a favor and get this amp.
