I was happy to see this Strat come along and I gave it a try. As always I use the Marshall amp and tried both clean and distorted. I would say that when I'm in an SRV mood, it's nice, but sometimes I'm not. This guitar is not very versatile for the musician who performs a variety of music, because of the look. The three matched pickups don't give ya a break either from the same old howlin' dog.

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I fell in love with this guitar when I took it out of its case. The sound is amazing and it stays in tune forever. I have yet to find one thing I don't like about it and I have had it now for about two and a half years.

More than your moneys worth !

By Slide-Man

from Michigan City , IN

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I just purchased this beauty from guitar center , and "Man is it smooth". My hat is off to you , Fender. I've been a die-hard acoustic guitarist until this point , and my tastes in music I wanted to play have lead me to "plugging in", this future piece of history coupled with my Peavy amp, has made me regret doing it sooner. From deep blues tones to "High Octane Slides" this guitar just plain Rocks. (No regrets)

Get Your Money's Worth

By DrJeff

from Sulphur Springs, TX

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I bought a Jimmy Vaughn to begin with and it was a good guitar, but I decided I liked the neck on the SRV. Boy, did I get more than I bargained for. The SRV has a sound that I have never heard from a guitar in a price range even CLOSE to this. I am such a satisfied customer, that I am going to buy another one in the near future. Hands down, this is the best guitar that I could ever afford, but also the only one I would want after hearing the Texas sound to this product.

AWESOME!

By Bulldog

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've been a huge SRV fan for years and have been working on my Little Wing for quite some time. I've been playing it on my Jackson, but when I took it in for a repair, I saw this piece of art hanging on the wall. When I pluged it in and played the 1st few riffs, I couldn't believe it was me playing! I bought it on the spot and have not regreted it! Absolutely amazing!

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I picked this up at a guitar center, and wow. I played some Stevie riffs through a Fender Twin and the sound was crazy good. It also sounded great with anything else I played. One of my favorite Fenders.

My Number One

By Jonathan

from Miami, FL

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I dedicated my entire summer working for money for a new guitar. When I got to the guitarcenter in august i played every strat i saw, even ones that were out of my price range. When I tell you this I am being 100% honest, as soon as I put my fingers on this guitar my future changed. The guitars sound made me feel like it was the first time i heard music. I play this guitar about 4 hours everyday and let me tell you it looks, feels, and sounds better everyday. The ONLY problem with this guitar is that after playing this I have no where else to go but down. This is my number one and will always be.

The "strat" sound doesn't get any better

By Subtone

from California

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

The SRV was my first strat got back in '92 i think. Since then i've had a few strats, teles, and others but this is the only fender I still have. The Texas Specials are hotter than the standards and this adds a whole new depth and punch to that legendary hollow fender sound while it produces great tones at high gain. The real prize though is the neck, between the jumbo frets, the pao ferro board, and the huge diameter of the neck this guitar, it is a real joy to play.

My favorite guitar

By adam romanelli

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

This is by far the best guitar I have ever owned. You pick it up and it just fits. I spent a year contemplating about buying it because of the price tag. Anyone with these reservations, put them behind this Strat is worth it. From the look the sound, the feel, simply the best.

I just wanted a Strat

By Nando

from Minas, Lavalleja, Uruguay

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

For years i wanted an american strat, when i got the money i choose in favour of the SRV (a 1996) I play it through a Blues Deluxe Reissue amp. The volume of the guitar at 8 with a nice clean just under the amp break point, then turn the guitar volume up to 10 and the babe growls Works fine for me, and like the Texas Special tone. So far so good.

THE blues guitar

By Lawrence

from NY

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

My SRV is from the first year of production and I've been playing it for 15+ years so I know this guitar pretty well. First off, one thing I noticed is that the early guitars look nicer than the ones made today.Every time I go to GC, I make a point to have a peek at the SRV's and none have had the beautiful wood grain like mine. Still beautiful, don't get me wrong, but maybe the wood selection isn't quite as "selective". The sound and very fat neck set this guitar apart from most Strats. If you have big hands, you will love this neck. The Texas Specials make this guitar sing and wail all you want, but it's not for a heavy metal sound,of course. My gold plated hardware has oxidized and gives a worn look, which I love. Overall, this is a treasured instrument in my family & I will pass it along to sons one day.

Stevie Ray Vaughan Strat.

By HIPCHIP

from Sacramento, Ca

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

The SRV Strat is based on Stevie Ray Vaughans vintage Strat. The workmanship, feel, sound, and quality are excellent. With vintage amps, like those from Fender, it is easy to obtain a sound similiar to what Stevie was able to obtain. The gold hardware, left hand tremello, aging on the vintage hardware, as well as the SRV pickguard are beautiful to look at. Watch JJohn Mayer sometime, he has a SRV Strat which he changed the pickguard to a tortoise shell. The sound is good enough for him!

SIMPLY AWESOME

By Jamie

from Detroit

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I been a Gibson only man for years. I finally bought a mim lone star strat and liked it.. I always wanted the SRV sig but didn't have the guts to pull the trigger. I shopped around different guitar centers for used ones and most were beat up witch isn't a bad thing.. I ended up buying a brand new one and fell in love with it the first night of playing.. This guitar not only sounds great but its also one of the most beautiful guitars I ever seen. I bought a fender deluxe reissue 1x12 40watt all tube amp and plugged in the SRV guitar and what a sound..... I love this guitar so much tone and power I might get another one to put in a showcase on my wall....its a piece of history in my hands.. Everyone complains about the pick guard but is easily fixed buy getting a vintage 8 hole pick guard... I don't think the srv logo looks tacky at all unless I was playing on stage.. I bought a fulltone ocd and it screams SRV tones all night... I have a tubescreamer but its a Christmas present so Im going to wait to use it......the neck is very different then any other guitar i played. After playing for an hour I switched to my American standard strat to compare and the SRV was way better... The neck is perfect....be careful when taking the trem bar off, there's a spring in there and it will fall out without you even knowing(ask me how)lol...That is why it came with a sticker covering the hole......This guitar is not for everyone but that is why they make so many....choose what you like....

Your Pride and Joy

By Rich

from Pittsburgh

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

From the moment your hand wraps around the neck and your fingers touch the jumbo fretboard, you know it's going to be magic. I love this guitar... it's plays so well. Texas pickups sound fantastic and the gold trim and finish are beautiful. You can tell Stevie had a hand in this, and just like him, it's just outstanding. Price is not even much more than a Standard American. Highly recommended.

Amazing Strat!

By Scott

from MO

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I've been looking at Strats for a while now, but when I picked the Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster up I knew I found the one I wanted. The shape of the neck is terrific, the style is great, and once I got thicker strings on, the pickups have Number One's unique growl down pat. Sounds terrific coming out of my LoneStar Special, but plug into a 65' Super Reverb Reissue and a Keeley modded TS9, and you've got Stevie's tone right there in your hands. I'd recommend this Strat to anybody!

SRV Signature Strat

By Michael

from Los Angles

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I started two weeks ago buying and returning guitars. I ended up returning a Les Paul and a Standard Strat HSS. This is the sound I am looking for. Still want to hear the John Mayer (different pickups) but I don't see getting rid of this ever. Great buy.

More than you'll ever want!!

By Bryan

from Austin, TX

Comments about Fender Artist Series Stevie Ray Vaughan Stratocaster Electric Guitar:

I have had the awesome privlage to buy this guitar that i have been wanting for about 6 months. Finally, i saved enough money to get it, and it was well worth it. This guitar will scream any note, even if you are playing any style, it rocks. I would recommend changing the strings to Not Even Slinky Ernie Balls, They dont ever break! I only have to say that this guitar will change your playing when you hit the first note. i would give this guitar 10 stars!!
