Comments about Fender Artist Series James Burton Telecaster Electric Guitar:

If you're looking for a great guitar, BUY THIS! I have other high-line guitars (Les Paul, Gretsch, Rickenbacker), but the JB Tele is the best, and gets almost all my playing time now. The body is light and comfortable. The maple neck is simple and elegant, with a fantastic feel – the toughest leads are easier to play and sound better than on any other guitar I've ever played. The Lace Sensor pickups are fantastic – quiet (virtually zero hum) and responsive, with a range you can't believe. The five-position switch (with parallel sound in two positions) give you so many sonic options, you don't need another ax. Of course it can scream country twang and rockabilly, but it can also do a fine jazz guitar sound. Just great.

And the looks? Simply killer. I fell in love with in online, and it looks even better in person. When I picked it up, I opened the box and case, and at least 15 people in the store came over to fawn over it for ten minutes. My playing partners are in love with it, and feel the same as I do. If there's a cooler (or better) guitar out there, I can't name it, especially for this price. It looks jewel-like in some details, like the flame graphics that look six inches deep, the way the pickups blend into the look, to the beautiful neck, head and tuners. The ornate flames front and back are so, so sweet. If you're looking for a Tele, Strat, or just something truly unique and killer that can do everything extremely well, this is it. Buy it, and you'll be a "happy cat!"

Comments about Fender Artist Series James Burton Telecaster Electric Guitar:

This is what I wrote, recently, to a friend in an e-mail: A few weeks ago, completely as a result of impulse shopping, I bought a new James Burton Plus Telecaster, with the blue and gold artwork -- without even trying a showroom model, hearing it, or anything. I just felt confident in its heritage and designers. I am ever glad I did. I can't praise that guitar enough. Incredible tone and sustain, especially on string bends. Incredible stability in intonation ALL the way up and down the neck. Lots of variety in tone. Wow, wow, wow!

    Awesome Guitar!

    By

    from Jackson, Michigan

Comments about Fender Artist Series James Burton Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I ordered this guitar from the Chicago store on Monday and it arrived Wednesday at my door. Right out of the box it was set up and ready to play, all I had to do was tune it. It just so happened that at the time it arrived a friend of mine who is an awesome guitar player was over and we were jamming. We are both experienced musicians who have played in various bands most of our lives but are both retired and just play for our own enjoyment mostly so we know a good guitar when we see one. We both took turns putting it through it's paces and were very pleased with it's performance. The switching options for the three James Burton style pickups really allows you to get whatever type of sound you want for country or rock music. Very nice fast neck/fingerboard and with the hardtail bridge it stays in tune very well. I believe it is destined to be one of my favirite guitars that I have owned and I've had plenty including Les Paul, Taylor T5 and many others. Oh yeah, did I mention it is Gorgeous!!!

    This guitar rocks...

    By

Comments about Fender Artist Series James Burton Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I got the red flame version about 3 years ago. Looks excellent on stage. Retail price has increased annually since orig purchase(a guitar that appreciates). Superfast satin finish 9.5 maple neck bolted to a urethane basswood body hosting gold hardware, special burton blade pickups and 7 way switch electronics for series wiring tone option in position 2 & 4. Fit & finish excellent. Light, easy on shoulders/back. I love that there is no pick guard so the body graffics shows. Pearl button tuners add good looks few other guitars have. Get one, learn to play all the lead parts in Ricky Nelson songs like Travling Man and Hello Mary Lou. Excellent single coil solid body guitar. I could see this being my only guitar if I had to pare it down to just keep one...
