I've always wanted an American made Strat and finally took the plunge. I don't get to play much these days but maybe now I will get back to doing so. The guitar is really well built. I didn't know that Fender would provide the newer 5 position switch with it so that was a plus though I will have to swap it out myself. The case is really nice and a little heavier than my Squire case with extra padding and the side compartment has a snap tab to keep it from falling open. They even tossed in a(cheap)strap and an inexpensive cord to get you by. I like the sound.
Sweetest freaking guitar ever built!!! Love it!! Beautiful, smooth, great action, love the 70's look and feel. Love that big headstock. Would recommend this guitar for any artist. I got the natural ash, maple fretboard - like nothing I have ever played before!!!
I've just bought mine 1 week ago, in Manhattan. I was looking for the Olympic White with Rosewood Fretboard, but there was none in store at the time. The only one available was a Olympic White with Maple Neck, and after I tried it out, I just made up my mind and took it. Neck feels great and it sounds amazing, specially when you play it though a VOX amp (a really bright and clean tone). It allows you to recreate all those 70's sounds (Purple or Rainbow sounds, for example). I also have a Vintage Hot Rod 62, which sounds great too, but I think that's the one. Definitely a very good guitar.
I played a number of guitars, mainly Strats, while looking for a guitar. This one felt like butter in my hands the first time I picked it up. So smooth and easy to play even for a novice like myself. The sound is great, the fit and finish is perfect. I took alot of time searching for the right American Made guitar and this one was it. I figured if I was going to buy a guitar it should be American Made and looked at it as a long term investment. I am very happy with my purchase as I will playing this for a very very long time. Very satisfied.
its nice to have my old 70s strat back i had a 1976 strat olympic white rosewood board and black pickgaurd now i own one again and this time its better great sound and feels great its nice to have my guitar back agian thanks fender.
I bought this strat about 2 years ago, i love it. the rosewood neck plays like a dream. I have 5 strats and this is my favorite. IF you ever have the chance to buy this guitar, DO IT!!!!! It will be one of the best investments you will make.
I bought this guitar a few years back at a local shop my friend worked at. A guy had had a custom humbucker put in then decided it was too pricy. My friend was able to get me a 50% discount... After 3 years now, I would have bought it even without the discount. Only downside is that the single coils are a little noisy if playing through a lower-end solid state amp.
So we all heard of the heavy 70s Strats with weird Necks and those awful 3 point necks ... Well folks, beleive it or not Leo himself apointed the 3 point neck and it was supposed to be the ultimate Strat ... AND IT IS Finally ! this is how the 60s Strat should have evolved ! amazing pickups, amazing Bridge Amazing tone, breathtaking playability ! Outplays ANYTHING on the rack
It is known that the Strat is the most popular guitar in the world. Out there, you may find thousands of different models but not one like this. This guitar has a great sound, is very smoloth and comfortable and you can recreate millions of legendary sounds. Without doubt the best guitar in the world.
I am fortunate to own 2 strats. The first is a Koa limited strat and the second is the 70's reissue. As I played it, I was in awe. Unbelievable tone!! Great playing this, even if one has shorter, stubbier fingers like mine. Unlike my Koa, I didn't have to do anything to trick this one out. I may eventually get the sperzel locking tuners, but that would be it. It is fantastic just the way it is. No tweeking to get this strat to be the beast you want it to be. It can growl out jazz like nothing else, it can whisper and gently speak , it moans the blues, and rocks the house. It is simply without a peer.
