A top-of-the-line thin-skin nitrocellulose lacquer finish gives it the right look. The rest is true-blue '57 Strat: comfort-contoured alder body, maple neck with vintage C profile, Fender/Gotoh vintage-style tuners, single-ply white pickguard, and chrome hardware. Includes case.

Best guitar I've ever played

By Andrew Riggs

from Dallas

The neck of this guitar is beauty. It feels so natural in my hand, it it quick and smooth. I have played telecasters and even stratocasters and the neck is sorta sticky and snappy and feels cheap. This feels like a million bucks. It has a tummy cut which makes this guitar extra amazing. The sound of this guitar can be heard through the drums and bass but still be full. If you are wondering if this is worth the money, YES! I think finding the perfect guitar is priceless. If you have enough to afford this buy it, you wont go wrong.

By Dr. Shredmaster

this is the greatest strat ever. the noiseless pickups sound amazing and the dimarzio bridge is hot. it may be pricy but it is worth every penny. it has unbelievable feel and playability like no other strat. its the best guitar you can get for the price.

This is a nice axe if you can afford it. I've never had a problem with it, sounds great and plays great. The bridge pickup is super hot, but the others can still have a nice warm tone. I play it with a 40th anniversary Fender Hot Rod tube amp with Celestion special speakers. The tone is impeccable. I guess the only downsides are that the finish is difficult to keep clean and it's really expensive.

This is what a Strat should feel like....

By Terrance Standifer

from Orange County, CA.

I am extremely impressed with my candy apple red '57 hot rod. The only thing I did modify was the middle and neck pickups. I put 2 DIMARZIO CRUISERS in those positions and I think its perfect. I really liked the original neck/middle pickups but needed a little more output for the music I play. I will pickup the sunburst model within the next couple of months and keep the original pickups in that one.

my versatile hotrod.

By Nick

from U.K

I've owned my hotrod for a little over two months now and used it on the five jobs i've had in that time. The guitar is capable of any style you want within reason. Obviously you cant get the full on neck humbucker sound but the scn's do a decent approximation in possition 2. I play any style and dont usualy know what is required of me until i turn up at the studio. One day its jazz the next day its metal or country or pop. I just take the hotrod it covers em all. Playability is top class too, very fluid. The guitar required very little set up new, when usualy it takes me 2 or 3 days of tweaking to get a guitar how i want it.

Awesome Axe

By Jimbo

from San Diego

I have had this guitar for 8 months now. It is now my no 1 axe. The neck is perfect for me, I love the flatter radius and the satin finish on the back of the neck. This axe delivers alot of versitility you do not expect to find on a vintage reissue, Ya it has only 21 frets ,for me that was cool. the 5 way switching, and the tone zone at the bridge, can give you some cool different sounds. This is a very well made piece that is worth every cent. I highly recomend this guitar.

By joshnerez

my friend got an american standard deluxe and he's selling his hot rod installed with emg sa's. i grabbed the oppurtunity since most of our friends dont use strats. as i played it the first time, i know, i have fallen in love with this baby..the price was worth it, he dropped it down to 400 bucks..now, its my main guitar for studio recordings and live..

great sounds

By James

from roanoke va

the neck is only 21 frets, which can be limiting if you are used to a 22 or 24 fret neck, but it has a nice feel to it. the bridge is vintage and can throw off the intonation when you change the strings unless you make sure you get it back in the exact same position and it can be more unstable than more modern, better designed bridges. The clean sounds are impeccable, the lead sounds are fantastic as well but it lacks on sustain even though the pickups are hot. (compared to other guitars I have).

I have watched my friend and a few others play this guitar and I can easily say that I was blown away by the sound of the guitar. The only thing that is keeping me away from this baby is the price. I wish it was more affordable. But, the guitar itself is amazing. It has a clean sound and great tone while keeping it's Stratocaster sound. Definately a buy if you have the money. Thanks Fender!
