Comments about Fender American Standard HH Dimension Bass IV Maple Fingerboard Electric Bass Guitar:

Have been playing it for a month now. I was impressed when I pulled it out of the case - it was set up perfectly for me. Immediately when I plugged it in, I was impressed with the growl I'm able to get out of it.

    Pros:
+ It's big and beautiful. To me the maple fretboard looks so much better with Fender's standard maple headstock. I once had an all-black P-bass with a rosewood fretboard; the natural maple headstock looked silly on it. The beefy looking pickups and swoopy pickguard give it a more modern look than a J or P while the classic headstock and tuners let you know it's a Fender.
+ I like the feel of the neck. My other main instrument is an Ibanez SR with a really thin neck that sometimes cramps up my hand. This Fender is more comfortable, especially up near the nut.
+ The pickups rock! The humbuckers are totally quiet compared to the big singles on my Ibanez, which pick up way too much hum/buzz. I can get the snarly growl I've always been looking for (as well as any other normal bass sound). The tone pot has more effect than I expected.
+ The high-mass bridge adds to the overall modern appearance.
+ The tuners are great, too.
+ The fretwork is perfect. The P-bass I had drove me crazy with square-cut fret ends sticking out from day one. This new D-bass is perfect.
+ No battery! I was a bit worried that without an active eq on board I wouldn't be able to get the sound I wanted, but I can get all the sounds I need and don't have to worry about a battery.
+ The included case is really nice.
+ I like having the truss rod adjustment accessible at the heel of the neck. No truss rod cover to lose. We have crazy climate changes with the seasons that require adjustments throughout the year.

    Cons:
    - It's heavy compared to my Ibanez and Schecter. After a couple of hours, my shoulder starts nagging me.
    - I don't care for the two volume knobs for the pickups. I plan on switching them out for a blend pot with a single volume like my other basses.

Comments about Fender American Standard HH Dimension Bass IV Maple Fingerboard Electric Bass Guitar:

It took me a day or two to get use to the different feel, because I am mainly a p bass player, and a 5 string Stingray.
I have really started to love the feel of the neck and the warm tone. It's definitely a keeper that is taken to a new dimension!

This bass are the best, why? because of the fine wood finish crafmanship the harwares & pick ups are excellent. Best of all the tone sounds are all there high, mid, low or mix . And also a well balance tuning is where the ferfection is.And the weight is not too light, not too heavy either .Yes, still the American Standard Bass or Guitars are overall has its ferfections.Im happy I have a set of Fenders .A Rumble 500 Amp. with combined speakers 410 & 115 to plug in my Dimension IV Made in U.S.A.
