    Best Bass Ever

Comments about Fender American Special Precision Bass:

Been wanting to get a bass guitar for awhile, keep dragin my feet.Had to fill in for missing bass player and just barely got by. i went to guitar center in Visalia Ca, really great staff, Jeff, Sam and Jacob were awesome as usual. I love this bass! It sounds fantastic, just like you would expect from an American Fender. The neck is bad assed, great for a guitar player switchin to bass guitar. It is a little thinner than the Standard Bass. This bass feels great and sounds great. Stays in tune, no fret buzz fast action, cool sounding electics. It came with a tuner, cable and gig bag.The gig bag that comes with this bass is really nice, but I also bought a hardshell case. I would also recommend strap locks.Really great choice going from 6 string guitar to bass. Fender always seems to have a great product,I've several models, still have my heavy metal strat from 1988!

American Special P vs American Standard P

    By

    from Killeen, TX

Comments about Fender American Special Precision Bass:

On a recent trip to Guitar Center, I played the Fender American Standard Precision bass guitar in sunburst with the rosewood neck. Sounded good, but it did not reach out and grab my attention. Next to the Fender American Standard P bass on the wall was a Fender American Special P bass guitar in candy apple red with the maple neck. Wow! I could not put it down. And it was on clearance sale! Easy to play, great action, incredible tone, and I just love candy apple red. I compared both bass guitars through a Fender 150 bass amp combo, and I walked away with the winner (American Special Precision bass guitar) for half the price of the American Standard P bass.

    Fast & Smooth

Comments about Fender American Special Precision Bass:

After playing electric guitar for 40+ years it was time to (seriously) learn bass so I picked up a Fender acoustic electric but after a few weeks didn't like the fit or feel. It had a great sound but I traded it for one of these. Out of the box setup was very good, finish is excellent but the neck is what makes this bass a great ride, with the classic Fender Precision sound I can't put it down. Note to GC: mention the the slim neck on the specs. tab.

    Incredible Bass!

    By

Comments about Fender American Special Precision Bass:

I have played bass professionally for 32 years. This bass has a "jazz neck" feel with the rich deep tone of a Precision Bass. The tone control is the best in the business. More treble than you will ever need. When you roll off the highs, the definition and articulation are still there! I do alot of slapping and the fast maple neck is a dream! If you compare this bass to all the others...you will notice that the definition and feel of the neck are not matched. Let's face it...Fender is the inventor of the best modern bass that has stood the test of time. Buy it!!

Best version of a new american P-bass!

    By

    from lawrence Township, NJ

Comments about Fender American Special Precision Bass:

When I got this bass, the first thing I noticed, it was setup very good, right from the plant. Reminds me of CBS Fender's golden years of the early 70's. When i plugged it up, such tone, and such power. Again, like a Fender P-bass needs to be. I'm not a big fan of the Jazz, and this is why. One sound , two controls, , that's all I need. Also, Guitar Center has very good service also. The guys, at the Langhorne, Pa store, are very nice, and very interested, that the instrument "fits" the needs of the musician. The "P", has that narrow width, that fits my small hands, and the weight, is nice and light(Lighter than my 1974 Natural P-bass, from back in the day). And, the price is right. No bells and whistles here, just P-bass power. The only thing I miss, is those big tuning keys from the early 70's. Maybe, an idea fender? In closing, it is an american special P-bass, or better said,it is an example how Fender Basses of the early 70's were, an American classic!

Comments about Fender American Special Precision Bass:

I have purchased a Fender American Special Precision Bass in the Sunburst and all I got to say is itۡs the BEST bass guitar I ever owned. At 59 years of age I have had 6 different bass guitars. The sales people at the Utah, Riverdale store are the best I have ever worked out deals with. And I suggest if you want an American made guitar you can't go wrong with Guitar Center. Thanks Guitar Center for all you do for me.

    Less than I expected

    By

    from Rochester, Pa.

Comments about Fender American Special Precision Bass:

In the course of three days I played forur American Specials in two different stores. The neck has a satin finish and is actually the only thing I liked. Neck finish was below par. Seems the bodies were all different as far a weight goes, no way to say exactly how much but it was obvious. Tone was average, nothing special. Finish was decent on white basses, poor on the one Candy Apple Red, and the Sunburst finish on a Jazz Special was awesome. I was looking seriously at a andy Apple Red with Maple neck after playing it I was very disappointed. Save a little more and buy an Amerian Standard.
