The first-ever American Special series Jazzmaster model is a stripped-down, full-voiced marvel in sound and style. Dual Jazzmaster Special humbucking pickups deliver monster tone, with a lean-and-mean control layout consisting of a single three-way toggle pickup switch and two aged-white control knobs (master volume and tone). Further, the Adjusto-Matic bridge and anchored tail piece provide rock-solid intonation and tuning stability.

Other features include a maple neck with modern C profile and satin finish, rosewood fingerboard with 9.5" radius and 21 jumbo frets, four-ply tortoiseshell pickguard, and nickel/chrome hardware.

Deluxe gig bag included.

not bad

from TX

Comments about Fender American Special Jazzmaster Electric Guitar:

I picked up this guitar about a week ago and over all it's pretty sweet.I love the C-shaped neck and satin finish. The tuners are a very nice up-grade from the older safety style tuners. The jumbo frets are awesome!!! gives the guitar some major mojo. However, I only give it 4 stars because when I take my hands off the strings, it buzzes really bad. This is pretty upsetting because not even my classic player jazzmaster buzzes like this. I got this jazzmaster because it has stacked humbuckers, which I thought was a buzz free pickup. I took the pick guard off to see if there was any grounding issues, but everything was pretty clean. So, my guess is that it's the pickups. But when it's being played, it sounds awesome. Great guitar, awesome feel, noisy pickups.

Nice & clean ~ JZHB pickups are sweet

from Norfolk, Virginia

Comments about Fender American Special Jazzmaster Electric Guitar:

Got a black one of these for Christmas. The idea of building a Jazzmaster w/ humbuckers seemed odd (overkill), but the JZHB's unusual tiered construction actually has a different sound and is more versatile than alotta HBs. These tuners are more solid than vintage style and the fixed bridge has eliminated mysterious buzzing probs. Honestly, the JZHB pickups took some time to grow on me since they're so different than traditional JM pups. But after fiddling around with the set-up, its become my 'go-to' guitar. Now that the pickup spacing's zeroed in, it really sounds great. When I play a few different guitars back-to-back, this one seems to stand out (frm a player's perspective). I don't miss the tremolo, since I usually use my fingers anyway. re: this instrument ~ Cosmetically, the finish is nice/clean and the frets were smooth. I oiled the fretboard & threw a fresh set of strings on and it really came to life. I actually wanted a new Jaguar, but found their current quality lacking - this guitar was a good plan B. Although not @ all like a Jag (other than looks), its a really nice quality guitar for <$1000; plays well, looks cool - I'm very happy My only gripe is seems like they'd incl a case w/ this quality guitar
