Where's the American workmanship

By bassdawg

from Phoenix, AZ

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

I tend to agree with everyone else about the classic tone, the feel, etc. I love jazz basses but my only complaint is with the frets. What's the deal? If I'm going to drop over a grand on a bass I shouldn't be shredding my fingers on frets that stick out of the neck. Maybe it's the dry weather here in Phoenix, yet cheaper basses don't seem to have this problem. You'd think Fender would do a better job of filing frets.

Sweet & Sexy

By Jeff

from Memphis, TN

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

I've owned a MusicMan, Modulus, 2 Rickenbackers, Godin, Jack Casady, at least 10 Fenders, and several others. The American Jazz is hard to beat. It's beautiful, and demands your attention. My current "go-to" favorite is a Sunset Orange Transparent w/shell pickguard, which looks awesome under stage lights. I also have a '75 P-Bass & a '75 Vintage Jazz re-issue. Also great basses, but my sax player simply loves this orange Amer.Jazz. He'll always bug me to "hit your switch (the S-1) on this song!" I had to tweak the set-up a bit, but it's a great player. A real workingman's bass that also screams, "Sexy!"

The master of all bass guitars

By Fenderbuddy2.0

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

Ok, one day I was in guitar center to get some cables for my PA system. Then after I made my purchase I decided to go try out some basses(be in mind im fender crazy). I tried out some beautiful basses and some not so good ones. But, in the end I decided that the fender jazz bass had left the largest impact on me. Go out, try it for yourself, pick your color, and make a purchase.

One of the best fenders around

By Slapbass123

from Undisclosed

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

I played on this guitar recently, and before i played the american jazz I had played the P-Bass standard and Jazz bass standard, I noticed the significant change in tone when the I started to play the american jazz, a much smoother tone, the action was good also, allowing me to play without effort, I noticed the difference when using the S-1 switch, sounding similiar to a standard precision(but with subtle differences), but not to the level of the american p-bass(played on that a month previous). For slap bass, slapping was easier than any other guitar I have played on. Looking forward to buying one(Sunset Orange with ash body, maple neck)

Great Bass

By tenorsaxgirl91

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

For the money this is an amazing bass. I always thought that after playing the saxophone, I'd never try out any guitar, until I played this bass. First day I tried it, I bought it. It was the best bass in the store! Try playing a fender jazz bass made in mexico, then try the american one, the tone will amaze you. Even as a beginner if you're willing to dish out a grand, you'll sound great and impress all your friends. A true professional bass, with the nice added touch of a S-1 switch. I have found that the frets do shred your fingers a lot, but with some practice and a little pain you'll look and sound great.

Records So Well!

By Zak

from Post Falls, ID

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

I bought an American J-Bass for my studio when bands come in that don't have good equipment. This bass is amazing! It plays like butter and sounds superb. Running the pickups in series (S1) gives a very convincing P bass sound as well. If this piece was stolen, I would go out and buy another one right away!

Best Bass in th Whole World

By BassNerd

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

This is the best bass I have ever played. There is no reason to get effects or anything. Once you hear one note you will be amazed. I've never heard a bass that could beat this sound. I have a Jazz Bass from 1980. No wonder so many musicians use this bass. This bass will always stay in tune and never gets even a scratch. This bass deserves 5 stars no doubt about it.

A rock solid instrument.

By Moore5150

from Michigan

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

The Fender American Jazz bass is one of the most quality bass guitars I have ever played. The feel is smooth as silk, and the tone is equally at home in a jazz combo, country group, or full on rock band. The EQ gives you various tonal shaping possibilities. An American classic that any bass player should consider.

Best Bass I have ever used!

By FJ

from Miami, FL

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

The Fender American Jazz Bass is amazing! I used it before and its sound is incredible. It has a nice smooth sound and gets rid of the extra noise that other basses have. It has a really nice feel to it. I recommend this bass to anyone. Don't conform for anything less. I have used it in comparison to other basses with the same amp. You can tell what the difference is right away.

A Simply Stunning Bass

By J. Bunger

from Ohio

Comments about Fender American Jazz Bass:

I play quite a variety of music. Everything from heavy metal to grunge, and a little jazz on the side. It handles everything I throw at it perfectly. It handles every type of distortion that I've ever used on it. In my uses with my bass, it seems to have a brighter sound to it. You can get the deep, rich sounds though. I personally love the sound that this bass puts out. It doesn't always hit the sound you want on the first try, but if you work enough, you can hit the sounds you desire. This bass has a feel that I have never found with any other bass. There is just something speical about it, the way it sounds, the way it feels to play it. It is just an amazing bass. From metal to grunge to jazz and back, this bass does it all. It holds up every sound, how big or how small. It fits perfectly to every distortion and tone I throw at it. I've been playing for almost two years now. I've played many types of basses and this is by far the best I've laid my hands on. If my bass was stolen I would replace it without a doubt. I wouldn't even consider getting something else. My favorite thing about this bass is its versatility, no matter what I want to play this bass can match my expectations and then exceed them. This bass has definately rejuvinated my love for the deep, rich sounds that hold the band together. If you are looking for a bass, look no further than the Fender American Jazz Bass.
