The Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar has a new compound-radius fretboard for effortless string bending anywhere along the neck. The staggered locking tuners improve tuning stability for stunt guitarists who like to bend behind the nut. New N3 noiseless pickups provide improved Telecaster tones for snappy bell-like chime with no hum.

Other features include a bound-top body with belly cut, S-1 switching, chromed brass bridge saddles, bound top and a beveled neck heel. Fender includes a new molded Fender-exclusive SKB case with glass-reinforced latches and TSA locks, cable, and strap locks with the American Deluxe Telecaster.

Fender N3 Noiseless pickups
N3 Noiseless pickups deliver the best of yesterday and today, because they deliver landmark vintage Fender tone and response without the hum that can plague single-coil pickups. Using an improved stacked coil-coil design, N3 Noiseless pickups are specially tailored for each Telecaster pickup position. The insulated metal core of each pickup position type differs in thickness and composition for enhanced tone.

Fender has fine-tuned the sized, shape, and wire gauge of the pickup coils to balance the magnetic responsiveness essential to great tone. Fender N3 pickups represent a welcome return to the warmth and clarity of alnico magnets. An Alnico 5 magnet is used in the bridge position, Alnico 2 in the middle position, and Alnico 3 for the neck position.

Can't keep my hands off of her

    By

    from Howell, NJ

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I originally purchased the Aged Cherry American Deluxe Telecaster through an online store. I went through a couple of them due to issues and spent about $80 in return shipping fees. During the Thanksgiving Holiday, I walked into my local Guitar Center (GC). They were having a 17% off holiday sale so I purchased the Butterscotch Deluxe Telecaster. This one had serious issues with the bridge and nut. I think someone bought it, tried to adjust the neck, messed it up, and returned it. GC took it back no problem (and no shipping fee). So GC ordered me a brand new Aged Cherry Deluxe Telecaster from the factory (with the 17% off). Thanks to GC, this new Aged Cherry American Deluxe Telecaster is amazing. No issues what so ever. Thanks for getting me a guitar that works at an amazing price. There are some folks out there who put the Deluxe down because it's not an original Tele. They say if it doesn't make noise, then it's not a Fender (sounds ridiculous doesn't it). I guarantee if Leo Fender had the N3 technology back in the 50's, he would have scrapped the original single coils. I've always admired the simplicity of the Telecaster. A 3 way blade, one volume and one tone. Despite the simplicity, this guitar is capable of a wide range of tones. The N3's produce sparkling, bell like clean tones or crazy distorted tones (without the annoying 60 cycle hum). Along with the compound radius neck, locking tuners and S1 switching, this is one unbelievably serious workhorse. If you love the true Tele sound, want flexibility in tone, want comfortable play ability, and want a guitar that stays in tune and doesn't make noise, than you've just found the Holy Grail.

    Best guitar ever

    By

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I've been eyeing this guitar for over a year and finally pulled the trigger. WOW, I just can't put her down. I got the 3-color sunburst and I can't get over how beautiful it is in person. I literally can't stop looking it at. Second, it plays like butter. The neck is awesome, bending from top to bottom is very nice as advertised. The tone choices of a tele are always great, but the added S-1 switch makes this guitar perfect for me. I play different genres and this tele is perfect for all. The S-1 in the middle position rocks almost like a les paul. And of course, it twangs like teles do. I'm also a big fan of the little extras, and Fender really is awesome. The guitar came in a very nice flight case, which had a nice guitar strap, a cable and locking tuners inside. So, i just plugged it in and went for it. Great buying experience.

    Fast Delivery

    By

    from Tampa, FL

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I ordered the American Deluxe Olympic Pearl Rosewood Tele on a Saturday and received it by Wednesday. It was quicker than I expected. The guitar was delivered without any problems and is quite exquisite. I really like the color, lightweight and ease of playing. The guitar itself sounds great; especially through my VOX - my only disappointment is the rosewood fretboard. I love the play and tone of rosewood (if it really makes a difference from maple), but I found the guide dots are a bit difficult to see. They are pearl and very small. Blending these small dots with the dark wood makes it a bit difficult. I felt a rosewood Fender would be a great addition since I already own a maple neck strat and an ash neck tele. In time I'll probably get use to the fretboard.

    Fender is the best

    By

    from North Hampton, NH

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

After waiting for so long, I finally got the guitar I've always wanted. The Tele Deluxe is by far the best guitar I own. I have four other Fenders and they are great, everyone in a class by itself, but this Tele Deluxe is definitely the best of the best. I plugged it in a Acoustic G120 twin 12 amp and wow, what a sound. Clear and crisp. Then I plugged it in my the amp I use to gig with, a Fender Ultimate Chorus twin 12 and double wow!The high and lows were teriffic. The feel of the neck is comfortable, the overall look of this Tele is absolutely the best. The color and finish can't be matched. The wait was worth it. This guitar exceeded all my expectations. I have other good brand name guitars, but I will sell them and stick to Fender guitars only from now on. Now, if only Fender would bring back a new and improved twin twelve Ultimate Chorus amp.

    Sum Greater than Parts...

    By

    from Lilburn, GA

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Essentially 2 pieces of wood slapped together, some corners shaved off, a gloss urethane finish, yet exudes such a different feel than the same models/brands lower on the food chain. This guitar was perfection from the start, and a year later, is still flawless (minus a ding or 2). I would have preferred a cheaper guitar, but they just did not delight in any way compared to this. I have absolutely no regrets, except that all I want to do now is play my tele! Solid feel, playability, tone, simplicity and looks need to be experienced. There is an intangible gestalt that is evident once you pick this up and plug it in. This one's a keeper, worth every penny if you love playing. (Cherry burst maple fretboard)

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I play and collect guitars. I had always wanted to add a Tele to the collection, so i shopped em and ended up buying an American special blond/maple. I owned it about 2 weeks very nice guitar. Then went to a party and a guy playing there had a deluxe Tele. When they were finished I went to talk to the player, we chatted for a while and I asked if I could try out his guitar. Well I almost fell over. The deluxe was so much more guitar than the special that I could not believe it. The neck the fretboad, the playability was just off the charts. I thanked him, went home and returned the special for the deluxe. One of the best moves (guitarwise) I have ever made.

    COMPLETE SATISFACTION

    By

    from Taylor, MI

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

Since I purchased my Fender American Deluxe Telecaster the year they came out. I've had several years to play this guitar, and learn what it can do. It is not the most expensive guitar I own, and when I purchased mine the price was much lower. Even so, mine is made just like the newer models. The only way I know how to display my love for this guitar is to express how I feel about the Fender American Deluxe Telecaster stacked up against my other guitars. In addition to having this Tele, I also have a Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster, Fender thinline 1972 vintage semi hollow body, double humbuckers Telecaster. (higher in price than the present cost for the Deluxe Telecaster). A Fender Jimmy Vaughn signature Stratocaster, Gibson Les Paul 1960 Classic, and a G&L Comanche made by Leo Fender. I've also had PRS, and several other high quality guitars. Having said that, I would have a difficult time in letting this American Deluxe Telecaster go than any other guitar I now own or have owned. This guitar is great for any style of music, including metal. With the S-1 switching, you get tons of different sounds. It should be noted that the simple change of an amp can make a difference in what you hear. Having a small recording studio, I have 9 different tube amps in order to record the sound I need. While my Gibson Les Paul 1960 Classic sounds great over my Marshall JVM410H. You can't get the many sounds that this Telecaster can duplicate. My finish is the cherry burst, and a picture doesn't do it justice. For more than 6 years I've owned this guitar, and never has it let me down. I've taken it in to have the intonation set on a steady basis. My G&L Comanche and Gibson 1960 Classic are much higher in cost than the present tag on the American Deluxe Telecaster. Even though I'm well pleased with my G&L and Gibson Les Paul 1960 Classic, and paid the higher price for them. There is no way they can take the place of my Fender American Deluxe Telecaster. If your wanting a Fender Telecaster, I strongly suggest you consider this model.

    I have to add this

    By

from far far northern california coast

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I wrote a very positive review for this excellent guitar, but like a lot of commentors I dismissed it as a lead guitar instrument. After spending 6 weeks playing this everyday and hearing others play it as well, I have to say this guitar rocks just as hard as my Gibson ES 137 semi-hollowbody with humbuckers. The tone is thinner and lighter, but can be thickened wonderfully with overdrive and chorus or whatever you normally use. It serves as a welcome change from humbucker-driven axes that may sound a little dark at times. If someone was considering buying this as a first and maybe only guitar to get serious on, they would not be disappointed. I am now a huge telecaster fan.

    Fender hits a home run!!

    By

    from Very Northern California

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Electric Guitar:

I went into GC ostensibly buy a Gibson SG. I had been researching them extensively and was just trying to figure which sub-brand I was going to to get. (I bought an ES 137 custom last year and I love it.) I played about 5 of them in the privacy of their bass room and was simply not impressed. As I was putting them away I walked by the Fender display. I already own a 2001 American Standard Fat Strat HHS and I really dig it. My eyes caught the teles which I had also been lusting over. I tried out several of them - a Koa (nice), a vintage with a 7.5 radius and the old style bridge, and an ASH. I fell in love with an aged cherry American Deluxe with a maple neck. I was just smitten by its striking beauty, but when I played on that buttery smooth maple neck with that cool compound radius (starts at 9.5" at the nut and goes to 14" at the end of the neck) that pretty much closed the deal. I was so impressed with the quality of the workmanship - the great finish, awesome color and the cool white binding. I loved the beveled contour top of the body and the SI control switch on the volume knob. I was really impressed with the locking tuners and I changed the strings to 10s as soon as got home. (Much better tone, by the way.) I also straightened the neck a hair from 0.011 relief to about 0.008. I lowered the strings a hair and made sure the radius at the bridge was 14". (Fender had set this guitar up perfectly - I just like to do my own set-ups.) The N3 pickups sound great - a typical tele sound. I can play rock, country, and even nice jazz stuff on this guitar. By the way, I have never heard an electric guitar play open chords so beautifully. Barre chords further on the neck are effortless and clean sounding. Right now I am thinking that this is for me, mostly a rhythm guitar. I will most likely keep playing blues and rock leads on my Gibson ES 137 and Strat- at least until get more familiar with my new tele. That does not mean others will not find this to be their dream shredding machine, it just seems to have a different purpose in my eyes. I really feel that this guitar is an instant classic and I believe that Fender quality just keeps getting better and better. This is a wonderful, wonderful guitar.
