Overview

Tone, tradition and innovation. Fender's new American Deluxe Telecaster is the 21st century way to rock with a Telecaster, graced by the added distinction of a traditional ash body. The compound radius fretboard allows effortless string bending anywhere along the neck, and staggered locking tuners improve tuning stability for stunt guitarists who like to bend behind the nut. New N3 Noiseless pickups provide improved Telecaster tones for snappy bell-like chime with no the hum; other features include S-1 switching and chromed brass bridge saddles.

Fender N3 Noiseless pickups N3 Noiseless pickups deliver the best of yesterday and today, because they deliver landmark vintage Fender tone and response without the hum that can plague single-coil pickups. Using an improved stacked coil-coil design, N3 Noiseless pickups are specially tailored for each Telecaster pickup position. The insulated metal core of each pickup position type differs in thickness and composition for enhanced tone, and Fender has fine-tuned the sized, shape, and wire gauge of the coils to balance the magnetic responsiveness essential to great tone. N3 Noiseless pickups represent a welcome return to the warmth and clarity of alnico magnets. Check the drop-down menu to the right to select colors and/or other options.

    My first Tele

    By Frank

    from Livingston, Texas

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Ash Electric Guitar:

At 69, I decided I would relearn to play the Guitar. I hadn't played a guitar since I was 16. I asked a friend of mine, a professional guitarist of 40 years, what guitar to buy, His answer was "Get a Tele" The folks at Tulsa Guitar Center recommended a cherry colored 60th anniversary Deluxe Tele. (I had my wife's credit card!) I'll take it! I didn't try it out as I didn't want to show my inexperience, but ran home and was blown away by it's sound, balance, action, and of course, it's driving beat. Three years later, I'm still giddy about it's balance, feel & tone. I play 50's Rock, classic country, and a newly purchased Fender Hot Rod lll amp has completed the set up. I can play this Axe for hours at a time. Thanks Tulsa Guitar Center and Fender

    The one and only tele

    By Werner

    from Oakdale

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Ash Electric Guitar:

This is the only tele you can possibly ever need. I tried many before I tried this one. Had to drive 50 miles to play it and I was immediately sold on it. I see no use for the s1 on a two pickup guitar ( it only serves a function in 1 position)!but it came with it so I am not complaining. The sound of this solid ash body makes all the difference. I have 5 strats and one custom made strat, but I love to pick up this tele almost every single day :-)

    plays smooth as silk.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Ash Electric Guitar:

I purchased the fender american deluxe butterscotch blonde ash telecaster just 17 days ago and I have had a chance to play this guitar on 3 occassions with the band that I play in and all i can say is WOW! this guitar is a little lighter than my other two telecasters and plays like creamy butter. We play a mix of southern gospel, country and some gospel rock and this axe is absolutely perfectly suited for the types of music we play. The guitar is stunning in appearance and very comfortable even after playing for several hours. the only negative thing I could say about this setup is that the case that the guitar came in was not as high a quality as I had expected but that was a small price to pay for a premium guitar that far exceeds other quality guitars that I have owned in the last 43 years. If you choose to buy this guitar, you won't be disappointed.

Beautful, Elegant, Well-Crafted, Simply Stated, Terrific!

    By Matthew Burzon

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Ash Electric Guitar:

Just bought a butterscotch blonde American Deluxe Tele. I can't imagine a guitar with a better feel. I played through an Egnater Rebel 30 for about an hour before pulling the trigger. I had my heart set on a butterscotch blonde tele, but wasn't sure where to begin. I started on the lower end with a Fender FSR Standard Ash tele. At $500 it really is a great deal. Nowhere near the level of craftsmanship on the American made teles, but for the most part I liked it; great tones and a nice change from my 93' Les Paul Studio. The deal breaker for me was the modern "c" neck. I have larger hands and really dislike the feel of the "c", so I moved on. I played a 52' reissue for a while. Amazing guitar but it had not been professionally set up yet. It did have a nice thick "U" neck. I was amazed at how the neck pickup sounds stock (before the optional installation of modern wiring). Imagine fully rolling off the treble tone pot on your average electric and that is what the 52' reissue neck pickup sounds like with the tone pot fully cranked to treble. That didn't fit with my playing style. It sounded incredibly muddy. Also played a 52'hot rod tele. Really nice, but not set up to my preferences in the store. The mini humbucker was clearly hotter than the tele lipstick neck pickup. The major deal breaker for me for both of the 52's was the truss rod adjustment being at the bottom of the neck. It looks like you would have to either remove the pickguard or the neck entirely to make a truss rod adjustment. Maybe I am wrong - I'm not a tech. The american deluxe had the truss rod accessible at the top of the headstock. Perfect. That's my take. It's a great guitar. I can't believe I just dropped that much dinero, however live is short and it's no doubt a keeper. Now I'm going to go give her some playtime.

    By Chuck Levine

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Ash Electric Guitar:

I own a 2001 American Stratocaster, a 1991 American Telecaster, a 2006 Gibson Les Paul and this week I purchased the Guitar that I've been looking for. The Fender American Deluxe Ash Telecaster. I could give you all kinds of technical info but I think the best way is go and play one. I have put my other Guitars up for sale and now I can enjoy playing and stop looking for that speacial feel, action and sound.

    Classic Fender Twang

    By Ryan McCrary

    from Green Bay, WI

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Ash Electric Guitar:

Fender has always been known for the delicious signature tones that it's guitars produce, and this guitar undoubtably lives up to the reputation. While playing clean, this guitar offers that unique tonal clarity with each note strummed with that classic clean fender sparkle. When you enter more higher gain territory, this guitar can rip out some mean twang that resembles the great sounds of power pop, southern rock, and straight up vintage rock and roll. If the sound quality isn't reason enough to make the investment, the visual stimulation of this guitar should do the trick with it's impeccable finish. If you are looking for a dynamic guitar that can offer beautiful clean tones and ripping twang rhythms and leads, this is the guitar is made for you.

    The sound of the gods....

    By Nicholas Barrios

    from Fremont, CA

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Telecaster Ash Electric Guitar:

This is also another guitar that I was really impressed with. Considering how many people touched it before I did, it was still in tune. The strings were set up nice and high so I could pound on them real hard and I could get a nice popping twangy sound even with the gain up a bit. The S-1 switch also added to the sound and gave it more variety. It was also nice because it was noiseless. The finish was also beautiful because it was transparent and you could see the grain. A common trait on guitars but still enjoyable.
