I've always been a strat guy. I've owned quite a few in fact, I found this Tele while waiting for my Strat to arrive from Fender. I've never played a sweeter instrument in my life (my Tele). The dual humbuckers eliminate the "twang" of a normal Tele while the "S-1" switch allows you to put it back in. The range of tones is truly amazing and I'm finding more and more stuff to do with it. Fit and finish are superb. The neck feels very natural in my hand and I didn't need to change a thing on the Fender set up. The factory nailed it. So much so that I thought I had ended up with a custom. I recommend it to every one!
With it's carved body, dual humbuckers and no pickguard some might say this is not a true Telecaster. I bought the bing cherry version. The finish on this one is beautiful. The action was set (it seems) just for me. Once the strings were broken in and tuned to 12th harmonic the intonation was perfect. The range of tones available with the S-1 switch are amazing. It looks like Fender has discontinued this particular model so grab one while you can.
This is, without a doubt, the best guitar I have ever played. The dual humbuckers are clean sounding with the coil tap on, but, with the tap off, look out. You can play the most insane Randy Rhoads licks and have tone to spare. The workmanship on this guitar is amazing. The neck is like sliding your hand up a big piece of butter. The fretboard is smoother than any guitar I've ever played. Being made in America, this guitar has the best workmanship of any guitar I've ever played. If you have the bread, go for this guitar. You won't be disappointed.
