Overview

The Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V Neck Electric Guitar has all the modern features today's guitarists demand, with some vintage flavor thrown in. All the cool specs of the new American Deluxe Stratocaster are here, plus a classic tinted maple neck with a '50s V-shape and a compound-radius fretboard that allows exhilaratingly effortless string bending anywhere along the neck.

Fender N3 noiseless pickups supercharge your sound with improved Stratocaster tones for sparkling bell-like chime with no hum, and reconfigured S-1 switching offers even more knockout tonal options. Additional key features include staggered locking tuners, 2-point synchronized American Deluxe tremolo bridge with pop-in arm, and beveled neck heel. Fender includes a new molded Fender-exclusive SKB case with glass-reinforced latches and TSA locks, cable, and strap locks with the American Deluse Strat.

Fender N3 Noiseless pickups N3 Noiseless pickups deliver the best of yesterday and today, because they deliver landmark vintage Fender tone and response without the hum that can plague single-coil pickups. Using an improved stacked coil-coil design, N3 Noiseless pickups are specially tailored for each Stratocaster pickup position. The insulated metal core of each pickup position type differs in thickness and composition for enhanced tone, and Fender has fine-tuned the sized, shape, and wire gauge of the coils to balance the magnetic responsiveness essential to great tone. N3 pickups represent a welcome return to the warmth and clarity of alnico magnets. An Alnico 5 magnet is used in the bridge position, Alnico 2 in the middle position, and Alnico 3 for the neck position.

This guitar has it all!!! The N3 Noiseless pickups are very refined and have great tone quality. They might have a little less "sizzle" than standard pups but i think this guitar sounds like a Strat. I have an American Standard Texas Special with the Texas Special pups and I can tell a difference BUT I like the American Deluxe sound even BETTER. The N3 sound is "Strat-y" but it is more refined. As I said before I REALLY like the sound. The S-1 switch is AWESOME! the sounds change dramatically. It adds a ton of "Girth" to the sound because it throws the pups into Series which simulates a humbucker. It's not a true humbucker sound but it adds a lot to your options in playing styles. With the S-1 you get 5 more sounds out of the pickups that are tonally unique. That means you have 10 different pickups combinations to choose from!!!
The neck has a "Soft-V" which means it's a little fatter. I emphasize "a little" fatter because it's not a huge size jump. My A.S. Strat has a "Modern C" profile and it's very thin in my hands. This A.D. Strat with the "Soft-V' fits perfectly in my hand. (I'm a normal size guy 6'1"). The neck is perfect! The compound radius feels nice. The frets are rounded off. The contoured neck heel feels very comfortable. The locking tuners are excellent. The gloss top fretboard is very nice. The satin back neck is very smooth. The block bridge saddles feel good on my hand when I palm mute. etc. etc. I could go on all day.

Point is, everything about this guitar is BETTER than the American Standard. It is well worth the price. The only issue you should be concerned about is the pickups.
If you need sizzling pickups get the American Standard. If you are like me, looking for a more refined Strat tone with a ton of pickup options then the American Deluxe is definitely for you! Don't be afraid to try this guitar based on other people's negative criticism. In my opinion this guitar is PERFECT!

I love the feel and tinted look of the neck. Fit and finish is great. Already replaced the N3 pickups with Seymour Duncan stacks - a huge improvement. S1 works well, but to me the only position that really adds is neck+ middle in series (center position of S1). The actual neck seem to need a lot of adjustment (not properly cured?) and the provided allen wrench does not engage well with the truss rod - sticky and easy to strip. I use 10-46 (instead of the 9-42), so would not think the difference was so drastic. The compound radius neck is slick and the locking tuners and them bridge work very well.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V Neck Electric Guitar:

After a minor action adjustment (I like it extremely low), this thing really is a pleasure to play. I have a little more reach with my hand-size and the 'soft V' neck accommodated that well. These do come with the Red N3's on the bridge, neck for the neck, and middle as appropriate. So yes, the N3's on this are each made for their respective position (a question that the rep I spoke with could simply not answer, as the staff seems to be given the same info that we have to read). Love the Noiseless Pup's, however I went one step further and dropped a Noiseless S.D. Double Stack in the bridge. She sounds great... Love maple necks, and also the 'tomato red' on this Strat. Would buy another in a heartbeat.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V Neck Electric Guitar:

I Bought an end of the year 2012 V-neck deluxe clearance on a whim. The best purchase I've ever made!
It's been my main gigging guitar. The neck is awesome! The N3 pickups are great for players that need versatility, which I do. When I saw the 2016 Elite Line up did not offer the V-neck, I ordered another V-neck before they are all gone. The big thing with the deluxe series is with the tremolo and the locking tuners. They stay in tune!. The Vintage neck tint is a great cosmetic plus. Love It Love It!

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V Neck Electric Guitar:

I was skeptical that I would be in love with the guitar as much as the other reviewers (there are a lot of gushing reviews for this guitar) but after having it for a week I am big fan. I honestly can't think of anything negative to say. Well done Fender. The tone on this thing is just fantastic. With my Johnson Millennium amp I can pull up just about any sound imaginable. Some folks are a little hard on the S1 switch but I think it defiantly adds to the tone spectrum versatility. The S1 switch is well integrated into the volume knob so it's not tacky like the Deluxe Plus "rewiring plates". I guess I am trying to say that the S1 switch feels very natural.

I was able to get an Open Box Mint condition item. Arrived in perfect condition. But as others have said, I certainly wouldn't have any buyers remorse at full price. Don't hesitate to buy this guitar if you're considering it.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Stratocaster V Neck Electric Guitar:

I love this guitar. The v neck is much more relaxing to my hand. I have c neck teles but the v neck is much more comfortable. The neck tint is rich, not pale like other fender offerings. It has a good light weight and the typical contoured strat back that lets you see the fretboard well.

I have owned my Fender Deluxe Stratocaster for A couple of years now and I can honestly say that it is my number one guitar. The feel and response is like no other.
Normally when I buy A guitar, I end up changing or tweaking the tone. Not with my Deluxe. It is the same now as when I purchased it. The neck is wonderful to play and I still enjoy playing it better than any of the other strats that I own. The electronics allow me to duplicate covers more closely. Great for Blues, Rock.

Bought it this week and gigged it this weekend. Absolutely love it! I also play an American Standard Strat, G&L ASAT (Tele) and a Gretsch Power Jet. This could fast become my favorite. I love the neck and the vintage sound without the hum. It was dead quiet on a stage with lots of lights. Definitely a keeper!
