what a great bass

By bryanonbass

from dover, nj

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Guitar:

I have owned 3 of these basses and everyone of them is just great. The 3 band eq is very versatile and the tonal spectrum that this bass produces is very wide. The double jazz humbuckers in the bridge position give a great jaco-esque midrange honk and the split coil precision pickup is smooth as butter. I have owned a lot of basses in my life (over 130) and these include many high end instruments (selling prices way over 3000.00. This is not to say that I am some awesome bass player, it just says that I have tried out a lot of basses. This pbass deluxe has outshined every other of my basses in every recording session I have done (1 major label, tons of indie label) And it is a favorite in almost every band I have been involved in. I have used it in rock, heavy metal, full on funk, jazz, trip hop, rap, folk, singer/songwriter stuff. Its just that good. Plus I rarely had to tune it. Throw it in the back of my car in its gigbag, get to the gig, plug in the tuner and 9 times out of 10 it was perfectly in tune. I would recommend this bass to ANYONE that is looking for a fantastic, versatile, solid instrument.

this guitar is awesome

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Guitar:

The fender american deluxe P-bass is exactly what i need for my bass playing. It is a p-bass but it can also have the settings adjusted to make it sound like a jazz bass or even change the tone to make it sound like a metal guitar. this guitar is truly amazing. it is especially amazing with my new ampeg halfstack, both of them combined makes beautiful tone quality and whatever sound you need for what you play.

A very good bass

By bendeg

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Guitar:

I own one since 1996, and I'm really not disappointed. It's a real pleasure to play with it. Varnish peels at the edges of the fretboard and it started at each fret-ends (heat/cold on frets ?) but I'd just have to sandpaper it, and that's it, smooth as a baby skin. It's definitely a good bass for fat and 70's sounds (I'm not a slapper, I can't tell for funk players). If it brakes, I'll buy another one...

Best Bass EVER!

By Chooch McGooch

from Bridgeport, CT

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Guitar:

Prescision pickup. Jazz pickup. What more can you ask for? I'm in two bands and this bass gives me the opportunity to blend the two pickups in a variety of ranges for the perfect sound for any song. Best thousand dollars I've ever spent, and I WILL buy another when when this thing kicks the bucket. But that might take a while. This baby's tough.

Great tone

By Slap

from San Francisco, CA

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Guitar:

Just finished recording an album using this bass in a top of the line recording studio. The DI from this bass was so amazing we barely EQed anything from the board. IT'S THAT GOOD. Everything about this bass rules- the neck, the pick-ups, the onboard EQ (which I don't even use but it's still fun to mess around with), even the appearance looks great. I recently used a different bass at a show and had a fan ask me what I did with this bass. It really is that good and noticeable.

MIA Deluxe Precision

By BR5000

from Dallas,TX

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Guitar:

Before I owned this bass I played two MIA jazz basses. After experimenting with various pickups and no personally fulfilling results . I looked for something to further accomodate my style and sound. I had always admired the looks of this bass and decided to try one out at my local GC. I didn't realize how awesome this thing was until I had it in my hands. Like I had read in so many other reviews the possibilities are endless with this bass. You can cover the entire spectrum with this thing. It also handles the distortion to my liking as well which is a huge plus in my book. There is no hum or any noise beside the sounds you make playing it. The active eq really beefs up the overall sound. The pre amp is powered by two 9v batteries making for a good amount of headroom. The feel of the neck and action are very smooth. I love that it has 22 frets with a contoured pocket for effortless playing on lower frets. The hardware is Top notch with no hint of cheapness what so ever. The finish is very beautiful. This bass truly rocks!

There can be only one

By BassWonk

from Cincinnati, Ohio

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Precision Bass Guitar:

Really there are only three bass tones: p-bass; fretless; and everything else. Most of us don't need a fretless tone, so here's your chance to rock the rest. From Flea's funkitorious honk to the thumpable punch of classic Motown and all the metal, rock and jazz inbetween, this gorgeous beauty is a mean machine that delivers all the goods and then some. Tone is large and full. After debuting the bass at rehersal, our drummer stated we'd finally found our groove! Finish work was excellent, bass was well balanced and light. Picking up the P-bass tone with the thinner jazz neck is the best of both worlds for playability and classic bass sound. It's pricey, no doubt, but worth the investment. You'll never need another bass again! Unless you want to horse around with a fretless, of course.
