Overview

Enter a new dimension of Fender bass. Dimension basses now take their place among Fender's greatest bass designs as the modern pinnacle of pro-level bass style, power, performance and personality.

The company that invented electric bass now brings you an elegantly original body style with all-new pickups, electronics and other fine features that let you sculpt and personalize your tone as no Fender bass ever has before. It is a level of bass artistry unparalleled in Fender history, and it is the future of your Fender bass experience. In every way, it's an entirely new Dimension in Fender bass.

The five-string American Deluxe Dimension Bass V HH is a phenomenal instrument, with an ash body in the completely new Dimension shape and featuring a comfortable asymmetrical neck heel. Its maple neck is crafted with a great-feeling asymmetrical "C"-shaped profile, Posiflex graphite neck support rods, a convenient heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel, smooth hand-rubbed oil finish and five-bolt neck plate. The compound-radius (9.5"-14") maple or rosewood fingerboard has 21 medium jumbo frets and a bone nut, while the headstock has a gloss finish and Stealth "A" string retainer.

The instrument's sonic sophistication is simply unmatched. Its dual Dimension Bass humbucking pickups are both powerful and nuanced, and its five-way switching, 18-volt onboard preamp, three-band active EQ (center-detented treble, mid and bass boost/cut) and master volume deliver remarkable tonal versatility with any degree of muscle and finesse. Other premium features include a three-ply parchment pickguard, knurled chrome control knobs, five-saddle Fender Hi-Mass bridge, vintage-style tuners with tapered shafts and a four-over/one-under configuration, and locking strap buttons. Available in elegant Natural, Black, Cayenne and Violin Burst gloss finishes. Hard-shell case, leather strap and 10' cable included.

Impressed!!!

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Dimension Bass V 5-String HH Electric Bass:

I first saw this bass at a Brad Paisley concert. Brad's bass player Kenny Lewis was playing one last year. I was so impressed by the tone I decided to start looking at them. I have played bass guitar for over twenty years. I have owned several basses including Peavey, Washburn, Pedulla, and played many others. This one has impressed me the most. The tone is unmatched! I run everything flat, and I am still getting huge, fat, clear tones. No matter how low or high I play. Also, the neck is super fast and comfortable. I love this bass! I would definitely recommend this bass to anyone! Fender did an outstanding job with this one! Thanks to Guitar Center as well, they were able to beat everyone's price and order one for me straight from Fender.

Comments about Fender American Deluxe Dimension Bass V 5-String HH Electric Bass:

This is quite possibly one of the best basses I have ever played. I have been through many different top name brands in search of that "perfect sound" and this bass has more than one to choose from! I have a Fender American Jazz Deluxe 5-string, which also has great tone and playability, but I actually prefer the Dimension. I chose the Cayenne finish with the Rosewood fingerboard and I must say it is STUNNING to see in person! This is one beautiful guitar!
The tone(s) are deep and rich and the low B is solid and distinct. I have struggled with other basses to get good definition out of my notes without losing that deep richness, but that isn't a problem with the Dimension.
The craftsmanship on this bass is top notch and I really wouldn't change a thing. I made a few slight adjustments to the action when I got it, but other than that it was good to go. I brought it to the gig and my band mates were instantly wowed. I had a backup bass with me, but I never picked it up. This bass is truly fun to play. The neck feels great in your hand and it's fast enough for just about any style. I play mostly country and blues and this bass fits the bill just fine.
The electronics on this bass are about what you would expect on a high end bass. They handle the whole spectrum of tones and I haven't run into any buzzing issues which is a big plus. With the 5-way switch you have a wide range of settings and tones to choose from.
If I had to come up with one CON, I guess it would be that this bass has a little weight to it. If that doesn't scare you off, then get a nice padded strap and you'll be having so much fun playing you won't even notice it.
