The company that invented electric bass now brings you an elegantly original body style with all-new pickups, electronics and other fine features that let you sculpt and personalize your tone as no Fender bass ever has before. It is a level of bass artistry unparalleled in Fender history, and it is the future of your Fender bass experience. In every way, it's an entirely new Dimension in Fender bass.
The American Deluxe Dimension Bass IV HH is a phenomenal instrument, with an ash body in the completely new Dimension shape and featuring a comfortable asymmetrical neck heel. Its maple neck is crafted with a great-feeling asymmetrical "C"-shaped profile, Posiflex graphite neck support rods, a convenient heel-mount truss rod adjustment wheel, smooth hand-rubbed oil finish and five-bolt neck plate. The compound-radius (9.5"-14") maple or rosewood fingerboard has 21 medium jumbo frets and a bone nut, while the headstock has a gloss finish and stealth "A" string retainer.
The instrument's sonic sophistication is simply unmatched. Its dual Dimension Bass humbucking pickups are both powerful and nuanced, and its five-way switching, 18-volt onboard preamp, three-band active EQ (center-detented treble, mid and bass boost/cut) and master volume deliver remarkable tonal versatility with any degree of muscle and finesse. Other premium features include a three-ply black pickguard, knurled chrome control knobs, Fender Hi-Mass bridge, vintage-style tuners with tapered shafts, locking strap buttons, side-mounted oval output jack and rear-mounted battery compartment. Available in elegant Natural, Black, Cayenne and Violin Burst gloss finishes. Hard-shell case, leather strap and 10' cable included.

Over the years I have played a number of basses including the P-Bass, J-Bass, Bronco Bass, Mustang Bass and a few others. When the Fender American Deluxe Dimension Bass IV HH was released last year, I thought it's probably not much different than my workhorse J-Bass. Then I read a few reviews. None of them had any serious drawbacks noted. So, I took the plunge and bought the Cayenne body/Rosewood fret board model. I was almost overwhelmed when it arrived, It looked even better than the pictures. It was also in tune, even after shipment! And, the intonation was right on the mark. Then the moment of truth: I played it. It sounds superb. Five different pickup combinations are switch selectable. Combined with the on-board 3 band equalizer, the tones are what ever you want. Fender has another winner. This not a repackage or reworked model, The Dimension is a new creation. IMHO, it is worth the price. The quality is flawless. It just feels good. After two months, no regrets.
This instrument is exactly as advertised. No buzz or fuzzy areas, electronics that that enhance the sonic aspects & move Fender to the top of the electronic bass supplier class. Body design changes that enable use of higher pitched frets + scalloped player side body design for weight reduction & ease of bass positioning. I strongly suspect those who moved to other brands for technology reasons will once again be back to *Fender's Dimension technology. RGG
This is an awesome bass. Don't listen to the haters that keep saying this is Fenders version/copy of some other bass. This is definitely the first time in a long time that Fender has tried something other than another variation of their precision or jazz collections. The single humbucker version may very well sound very similar to a Music Man (when I set my HH version to only the bridge PU it sounds like a MM). But the dual humbucker version is absolutely versatile and allows a wide range of sounds. This is the best bass I've ever put my hands on!!
