GREAT VALUE, GREAT GUITAR, GREAT AMP

By Mark Batchelor

from Pitman, NJ

I've been playing for 40+ years, mostly acoustic; but haven't picked up my guitar in years. I wanted to play electric because of the type of music my wife and I like (e.g. Lynyrd Skynyrd, Allman Brothers, Buddy Guy, etc...). Since I haven't regularly played in quite a few years, I was looking for an inexpensive combo to get me started again. I bought this online without ever trying one in a store. It was delivered on time and although purchased as a used unit, it was truly in mint condition. It sounded and played perfectly. The features on the amp for tuning and special effects are incredible for the price paid. I am so pleased and my fingers ache from practicing... I'll have my callouses back in no time. Highly recommended!!!

Great First Guitar with Nicer Amp to Keep Player Playing

By CW

from Potomac, MD

Nice to have everything in one package for a first-time guitar player, my 11-year old son. This pack is one step up from the basic pack and has a better quality amp with a better sound. One musician told me that when he was a kid his parents got him a basic amp which had static-y and inconsistent quality. He said it discouraged him or at least did not encourage him and he gave up playing until he was an adult. The better amp in this pack also has the ability to give accompaniment (e.g. drums). Adds to the fun and excitement of learning the guitar. My 11-year-old is so excited about his guitar and amp that he eagerly looks for time to practice!

Great guitar and amp

By guitar dude

from Connecticut

I bought this guitar when I was a newbie. Now I am good at guitar, and I am glad I bought this package. I didn't know what to look for, and what type of guitar I wanted. All I needed was something simple. This package is great. The amp is great for sound, and it helps with timing. You can set different beats on it, and there is a great variety of sounds you can set the amp to. The guitar is great for beginners. Overall this is a great package. The only thing I was upset with was it didn't come with a tuner. I recommend buying a tuner when you buy this guitar package.

Great beginning pack

By Jason Fenimore

from UT

This set is a great sonic pallete for a beginning guitarist who is trying to find what tone suits him best. The amp is great for practicing, but doesn't get really loud on any of the clean channels. You will never need another practice amp. The guitar has beuatiful craftsmanship, as any guitar by Fender does. As far as I can see, the only real difference between this guitar and one of the more expensive Fender guitars is the hardware. This guitar and amp set is perfect for any beginning guitarist. You won't regret getting it.

Awesome setup for beginner to advanced

By Chris

from Marriottsville Md

Ok, I have been playing for approx. 10 years and I have 4 CD's out. I picked up one of these packs yesterday mainly for the guitar - as a backup, but was surprised. After I slapped on some 10's and set the action/intonation etc. this baby was screaming. The guitar is lighter then my MIM fat strat but it has a great feel to it. I was even more impressed with the G-dec jr. Since I have a G-dec30 I wasn't expecting much, but this little amp is so versatile. It's probably the best practice amp out right now. If your new or just love the sound that an HSS strat has you will have loads of fun with this.

The best low costy guitar I have seen!!!

By Rick Shank

from Westalke ohio

tHis guitar is amazingly good this is my third review on it because It gets better every time. Alright let me start with the guitar. This guitar has great quality especially if you put some cleartone 10 gauge strings this thing sounds equivelant to guitars hitting 500 dollars if you get good strings. It doews go out of tune in the beginning but believe me the more use you give it the less things will happen to it. I couldnt use the whammy bar without it going out of tune. Its been 2 and a hlaf years of hard rock for this guitar and it always stays in tune it gets better with use the neck feels great the first day yopu get it but even better when it gets worn. this guitar is very durable as well I have hit it on many things and there isnt a scratch. Even the pickups get better with use and they are amazing. If i want a clean sound I just hit the pickups switch to the top and it switches to the neck pickup and it sounds as sweet as sugar. If I want heavy distortion I hit the pickups switch down to the humbucker and I sound like hendrix ACDC or whatever you want the pickups are really hot for a guitar in its price range which is good the sound is amazing. The amp is great too I have a marshall mg40 which is bigger and better and for some reason I always use the G-DEC amp it comes with because all you distortion is right there. The gig bag is good for everything you get with it but certainly not the best. everything else is fine as well. I am an intermediate player now and alot has changed but this guitar still holds up with what I want all the time no problem. Every time I get ready to put it up for sale I just cant do it because it too good to let go this will be mine forever.

well worth the money

By Doug

from Summerfield,Florida

This product is everything they say it is, and the Fender g-dec jr. amp is great, you can do so much with it. Iۡm still learning what you can do with it. I never had so much fun playing guitar by myself. The guitar doesn't have very good action, but you get what you pay for and I'm very satisfied with it. I havenۡt played guitar in 30 years, so this package is great for me. I definitely recommend it for beginners or people like me starting over again, and at a very good price I might add. Itۡs just a fun guitar and amp.

Great beginner guitar package!

By Tom Bedard

from Lake City, IA

I got this guitar package a few months ago (against my wife's wishes) but I am very satisfied with this guitar & amp (not sure if the wife is though, ha ha ha). I used to play drums as a teenager (I'm now 40) and have always wanted to learn how to play but didn't want to break the bank. Out of the box it sounded great. Makes me wish I had bought one 10-15 years ago, because I'd be a much better player NOW than I currently am. I definitely recommend this package to ANYONE (any age) who would like to pick up a guitar for the 1st time. I even ordered it from GC.com and received it in a timely fashion and do not regret doing so. Extremely satisfied customer, not so satisfied wife. As a novice player, I suggest getting extra strings and a pegwinder with your purchase as you never know when the strings are going to break. Other than that & lessons, you're good to go. Rock on!
