I got this at christman and I thought it was great! the amp is ok, not fenders best. Gives loud feedback if gain is high. You can play to some CD's usimg the AUX inputs on the amp, comes with some sub-par headphones for your amp. Comes with strings, a few picks(durable. Turn up the drive volume to even 4 and this baby gets loud! Only complaint with the guitar is my strings were set way too high off the neck I could put a pencil in between the neck and the strings at about the 12th fret. The pickups seem good, no problems yet. Easy access to every fret. Neck is easy to glide on. I love messing with the tremolo bar that comes with it. It looks great, sits in your lap easy and has good sound. The tuner works great, the strap is a bit uncomfortable at times, but it's no biggy. Came with a DVD that teaches you some basic chords. Overall: Great buy if your a beginner! Not displeased with this :) If it werent for the amp, I'd give it all 5's.

I actually bought this product at a going out of bussiness sale at a media play. At first it sounded awesome, the pickups where of decent quality, but; now two years later need replacing, but for the price of good pickups I'd rather fork over a few more hundred and get a non-squier strat. The model I have is a 22 fret rosewood fretboard. The neck is absolutly amazing. It is very comfortable and is very fast (as in perfect shape to fit my hand and not cause friction as I play up and down the neck). I definatly recomend this guitar to anyone who wants to get a good starter guitar. And if you decide you don't want to play guitar it's cheap enough to not be as regretable as buying a pricey brand new Gibson Les Paul to have it end up collecting dust in an attic.

Great Beginner Guitar!

By Sethy10

from Archbold, OH

I have had this guitar for about two years now and it is amazing! It was my first guitar and it has done me alot of good. I would recommend this guitar to any first-timer. The cool thing is is that it comes with an amp, cord, picks, and everything else you need to get started. I highly recommend it to any first-timer.

Perfect first guitar!

By Hill Jr.

from Houston, TX

I just bought this yesterday and it's perfect for your first guitar. The guitar sounds pretty good and the amps not too bad either, I love jamming some Nirvana on this!!! The only thing i didnt like was the cord it came with, it's cheap and I know I'm going to have to replace it soon!

in remark to my other commetnt

By Anonymous

from battle creek michigan

after i played on the drive channel for a couple hours it started to squeal and i was going to take it back because i only play on the drive channel and i noticed there were some other complaints about it squealing so i discovered that i had the gain all the way up so if you're on the drive channel just turn the gain down to three even none would work fine so don't be alarmed

this is awesome!!!

By Kenneth Evans

from michigan

this guitar amp combo is crazy sweet the only problem i had from it wuz getting the sticker and the film off the pickguard. this is my own first guitar but i've played many more. i bout this at my local guitar center today!!! it didn't come with the humbucker but i like it with distortion on the amp and the hum with the sing coils it sounds so cool to smoke on the water the distortion channel on the amp is awesome it can get really loud and it's big enough to not make u look like a woos with a small amp

great guitar for the price! go for it!

By thenickster

from yucaipa CA

my 1st electric guitar, i love it, strats are famous for being easy to play, light weight, good quality guitars. most guitars have a wider neck, the strat has a very skinny neck. making it very easy to slide up and down the fingerboard. it's easy to take apart, customize, and repair. fender makes a bunch of aftermarket parts for it too. when i got mine some of the screws were loose, but thats no big deal...i gave it a 4.5 in quality, because "Squier" is a branch of fender guitars that are assembled in indosia or mexico... genuine Fenders are made in america. but they cost to much. but its a GREAT guitar. buy it now.

Great Starters set

By Anonymous

from Connecticut

I'm new to playing guitar and this is a great starters set. You get everything you need included. My set also came with a helpful instructional DVD. The mettalic red is a beautiful deep color and the amp is great for practice. As you learn, you can connect a CD player to the amp and play along. If your starting out but still want a Fender guitar the Squier strat is excellent!!!

Squir Strat Pack

By Steve Wiest

from Cincinati, OH

I think the pack is great for beginers. I got this over a year ago and I'll tell you I learned so much. I'ts really good for rock music. But if your into bands like Avenged Sevenfold and Pantera you should buy a distortion pedal.

fat strat

By Anonymous

from no se

I play acoustic, and have been for three years, in the hopes that my mom (I'm 13, so she really does have control over this) will let me buy an elect. My guitar mentor (better than a teacher) is a big time electric player and likes th sound of the humbuckers. Being a music freak, I had to get a video iPod as soon as it came out, so I'm a bit low on cash now- then I discovered Squier. Great guitars, not to much of a price. And it comes with everything. All you expect from a Fender except what you except as the price.
