I've owned it for a week and so far it's been an amazing product. It has nice looks and is really light for a 90 watt amp. With and acoustic guitar it sounds great and the effects are quite fun. With an electric guitar you get a nice clean sound. With treble, middle and bass all the way up and a little bit of reverb it sounds much cooler. I haven't tried it with a mic yet, but I hope it delivers just as well. I really recommend this amp for anyone who sings and plays guitar (acoustic or electric).

... I've always been a huge Fender fan, but this amp is a big let-down! First of all, it's definitely not worth the money they want for it Secondly, advertising this amp as 90 watts borders on deception... it's maybe 30 watts at best and is certainly not loud enough fill a room any bigger than your living room! The instrument channel sounds decent, but the effects are not very useful whatsoever... I found only one setting that could be used playing live - The worst feature, however, is the mic channel... it's virtually useless - Too much feedback and waaaay to weak for a public performance - Look for something different if you plan on playing on the road!

Comments about Fender Acoustasonic 90 90W Acoustic Combo Amp:

Ok, so I have actually have done a few gigs using this amp, so I have some pretty good familiarity of this amp. I have been playing small places using just this amp. It is very light and portable and easy to use, but really is only useful for a few situations. The amp is for the most part loud enough for a small coffee shop gig in lieu of setting up a small PA, and sounds pretty good for the most part, but there are some quirks that you have to play with to get a decent tone. Firstly the instrument channel is pretty basic and allows you to dial in the tones quickly enough. I found that it is very heavy on the mids and treble, and does not not offer much warmth or bass, but it is decent. I turn the bass up to about 7, dial down the treble, and keep the tone on my Martin guitar about half way, and that seems to work pretty good. In the FX section of this channel, there are only a few of the 9 or 10 preset effects that are useful live, BUT if you do not over do it (keeping the FX blended in lightly), it is just too much artificial sound for an acoustic IMO. I put a touch of chorus and reverb, and dial the FX Level only to 3 or 4; past 5 it is over-bearing. It sound good live if you do that. Now for the mic section. DO NOT use a high output or high-gain mic, it will feed back, very quickly. It is almost better to buy a cheaper low output dynamic mic, as the built-in preamp gain on this amp is cranked too hot. With my awesome Sennheiser high output mic, I can only put it to about 3 before the feed back starts. So if you get this amp, just know that it is useful, but if you are looking for loud or well rounded vocals, you will not get it here. This is for light/small gigs and practice only. For big concerts, just run a direct box into the house PA and use a floor monitor or in-ears to hear. Live it is a bit limited. Just know what it is useful for, and spend accordingly. I would probably get the 150 watt version if you need more volume and warmth.

Fender is keeping its legend and reputation alive, by continuing to manufacture products that work where it matters most...on stage. Perfect for small venues for guitar and vocals. Leave the PA at home.

Comments about Fender Acoustasonic 90 90W Acoustic Combo Amp:

This is what I was looking for. 18 pounds, small, but big enough to carry a respectable speaker and enough power to cover my 100-250 customer venues. Nice, clean acoustic sound with my Martin. The "under powered" complaints are perhaps expecting too much from a 90 watt acoustic amp. I find it more than adequate for small-medium sized clubs. I also mic it at larger venues and wash it through the PA. I use two acoustics through it, so I don't use it for vocals, can't comment there. Effects are better than expected. Five stars because it met and exceeded expectations. While my Genz Benz Shennandoah is a better all around amp, the Acoustasonic fills my niche needs and travels well.

Comments about Fender Acoustasonic 90 90W Acoustic Combo Amp:

I've used this amp & mic in several different situations. For solo performs at 1/3rd volume it can sometimes be too loud. When I play with a band it has an XLR line out w/ boost and plugs right into full sized PA system like a champ. And I have my own little monitor. Yeah if you crank it up with an acoustic, what amp doesn't have problems but that's more the guitar than amp. Plus it is light and you can carry your guitar, gig bag w/ mic stand and this baby in ONE trip thru any club door. I know because I have. It's also great for bedroom quiet practice when needed-electric or acoustic.I play Martin, Gibson & Taylor and my strats and tele's sound great. No O/D though. Just clean with useable effects.5 starts for sure.

Comments about Fender Acoustasonic 90 90W Acoustic Combo Amp:

I bought my Acoustasonic 90 to go with the Stratacoustic I'd acquired about a month earlier. I needed them both to take advantage of an opportunity to branch out from front man/lead guitarist in a blues based electric band to doin' an acoustic solo set to do an opening set for a headliner band at a concert. Everybody loved the combination of the Stratacoustic and this amp. I also love the fact that it's got both an instrument channel and a vocal mic channel. It works great for rehearsals and will also work great playing out without the need for a PA. And it's got a whole array of effects available and controllable right from the front panel on the amp.. used just a touch of delay to get a great sound on stage! Good stuff and I'm glad I found both of these gems at Guitar Center!!
