I got the 500k pots to go with a set of Tex Mex pups I got for my Squier project guitar and i'm glad I did and not go with the 250k pots, I changed out all 3 pots, volume and 2 tone pots what a difference, the brights are so bright and dirty is nasty dirty just the way I wanted it. The pups are 3 single coil Fender Tex Mex set, I wired it so the 2 tone pots have their own capacitor and not just using one and jumping the tones pots together off one capacitor like Squier does at the factory, if you have s.s.s. or h.s.s. pups I would suggest these 500k pots they kick butt with new pups. The action on the pots are just right not too loose not too tight when turning your volume or tone, not like the cheap stock pots that were way too loose plus the voltage is right on, they are matched very well, this was the best $21 upgrade I've done and the set of 3 Tex Mex pups was only $99, so $120 turned a stock China Squier Affinity strat into a Squier strat that sounds like a Fender USA strat that I can get true Hendrix, SRV or Trower tones now.
I purchased this from GuitarCenter for A bit more power for my guitar , and it great . It makes A awsome replacement for what you mite need ,or just for A bit more power if needed.
