Fender Oversized 346 Shape Guitar/Bass Pick

By Captain Bonzai

from South Jersey beaches

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

I find this pick particularly useful as a bass player as it's extra width is wide enough to allow you to use both your index and middle finger to hold it with your thumb. The use of three fingers gives added support which assists in strumming a heavier bass guitar string.

Great

By FretlessinSanDiego

from Temecula, CA

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

I bought 1 of these picks for about a nickel at a Chicago concert and i've been playing it for the last 2 years! As a bassist, this is a wonderful pick, though call me crazy, I use thins. Using a thin 346 on a bass allows for fast strummng and runs, without breaking, they are so durable. I reccomend them to any bassist, i have not yet gotten to try the pick on my guitar so I'm not sure but it probably does well. Its amazing how far a nickel will go. It will probably be another year before that pick edge wears down and look, I have 2 more! so a nickel lasts about 10 years.

Good Picks

By Zypher-Rhythm

from South Portsmouth, KY

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

I picked this picks up the same day I bought my first guitar. These picks are extreamly durable only on an extreamly rare occasion did I break one.I have run out since then though but thats only because they last so long that I lost them. The only bad thing I have to say about these picks is that I prefer Dunlop lucky 13. (But thats just a personal Preference.)

I love the pick weight and shape.

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

I like a thin pick because it seems good for strumming and picking. I like the "give" and have been using them since I was a kid. As a kid I used to get the big triangle picks because I grew up in the 70s. I found those tore too easy so I went with the rounded triangle 346 version and have been in love ever since. I don't mind buying 6 dozen at a time, just don't stop making them because I can't get them in the store.

Pick this pic

By Russell

from Burleson, Texas

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

Good pick for strumming, not so much for picking since I use the thins. But then I'm a rhythm player not a lead player. Fine pick but highly flammable so be careful if you toss a broken one in an ash tray.

I Use This Kind Of Pick Exclusively

By Phil Seymour

from Redding, California

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

I have been using this style of pick since 1960. It has to be a medium, (I think that is .71mm), and the tortoise shell compound seems to hold up better than black, or white. These days, I only play 2 or 3 gigs a week, plus recording sessions, so I only use up a dozen every couple of months. I have been using this kind of pick for so long that they are the only ones that have the feel and response I need to play confidently. I am glad that I can get them online from Guitar Center because not all stores carry these.

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

Don't leave home without them! These picks have really made a positive difference in my playing. I am a better guitar player with these picks. What's so Great about them is that they don't slide out of your fingers like smaller picks do. I have much more control of these picks. They just don't slip out from my fingers.

I got a set of medium for regular 6 string guitar and a set of heavy for my acoustic bass. The heavy thickness picks help the acoustic bass to have more volume.

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

I ordered these picks for my students. I think a larger, thinner pick is better than a standard teardrop pick for beginning players, especially those working on strumming patterns and timing.

    not your average pick

    By Dick Hertz

    from in a bag, Mi

Comments about Fender 346 Shell Guitar Pick:

i own the HEAVY version of these picks and since i've gotten em, i havent used anything but. i play bass and like everyone knows from either dumb experience or common sense: ya need a tough pick for some fast riffing on ur favorite ESP, FENDER, DEAN, or watever takes ur fancy. i've been using the same pick for about 1 1/2 years now and its seen about 4 broken strings in its time. the only way these things break is if my dog gets a hold of em, and even then they usually just have tiny bumps in em from its teeth. buy these picks!!! its tough-as-nails durability and huge gripping surface delivers all that you would expect from FENDER and more.

these picks are flexible and that was the point behind fast solos. and I guess every guitar player should have different picks for different playing experiences.
