The all-time bluesy, funky rocker!

The Fender '65 Super Reverb Combo Amp is a long overdue addition to Fender's Vintage Reissue series. Here's a faithful re-creation of the legendary and highly collectible Blackface Super Reverb from the 1960s. This 45W, all-tube combo with 4 x 10" Jensen speakers, tube reverb, and vibrato has long been considered one of the best amps to "crank up" for unmiked club gigs or on the concert stage. The all-time bluesy, funky rocker! Includes 2-button footswitch.

Designed to sound as close to the original as possible, the ‘65 Reissues are assembled in Corona, California and feature Jensen speakers (One C12K for the Deluxe and two C12Ks for the Twin, four P10Rs for the Super and one C10R for the Princeton), Schumacher transformers, traditional tremolo and tube-driven reverb to create that classic, “Blackface” sound so many players desire. They do have PCBs (Printed Curcuit Boards), as opposed to the original’s “hand-wired” circuitry, but the components (capacitors and resistors) are the same values as amps from that period. They also have hand-wired tube sockets and other parts for added strength.

Tonal Characteristics: Bright, scooped midrange that is known as the “Blackface” sound, pronounced “Wine Glass” highs from the Jensen speakers and a slightly more polite power amp for crystal cleans that can also be cranked for great overdriven tones.
Who’s it for: Players that love the original versions but are priced out of owning vintage amps, blues players, country players, rock players, guitarists trying to get classic “Blackface” sounds (a la Stevie Ray Vaughan, Jimi Hendrix, John Mayer), American-made amp enthusiasts, traditionalists, avid Fender collectors.

  • Super Reverb Review

As reviewed by JG on 2/22/2007

Just like the name of the amp, it's Super. If i could only own one amp - this is it... Phenomenal tone, good head room for effects, sounds especially great with all my single coil guitars, sounds unbelievable with a Gibson 335. Certain overdrive/distortions aren't heavy enough if you play metal. This amp is all about CLEAN TONE. This amp really sends out the true sound of your pickups...

  • Super Reverb should be Super Vibrato

As reviewed by Doubleshot Guitarist on 10/31/2006

The '65 Super Reverb combo amp is the best Fender choice for a blues musician. I own an original vintage '65 Super Reverb but like the tube vibrato on the reissue better. They make 'em like they used to pre-CBS and with good tubes now available there's no reason not to have a good tube amp like this in your wall of sound arsenal and whether you're a blues or country player, this is "the" one for this Texan.

  • Played it

As reviewed by mark frampton on 10/15/2009

I've got an original 65. I love it. The rest of the musicians pray that I never sell it. But... I played a the Reissue. Dang! How can anything that is perfect get any better. I guess it's all the mess with UL compliancy that changed the character or maybe engineers are getting smarter. Either, side by side, IMHO the reissue has more dynamics end to end.
