  • Almost Identical to the real thing..

As reviewed by Frank on 6/10/2010

I've been playing for a little over 26 years now and in that time i've picked up a lot of originals, and seeing a brand come out with a reissue down the pike kinda makes you wonder how close it is to the real thing. Of all the basses and guitars this is tied for 1st (Gibson VOS 50's Les Paul Gold-top)when it comes to being exactly the same as its original. The tone is amazing, through my Gallien-Krueger head it sounds so warm with the low end cranked up. I am in love with this bass, I actually take the pickguard of sometimes to get the Jaco look, but when its on it looks exactly like John Paul Jones. And last but not least you just can't go wrong with the stacked-knobs and the ashtray style pickup covers. Very well done job by Fender in recreating its masterpice.

  • Rad jazz

As reviewed by Luke on 6/4/2010

Bought this because I loved the tone, you can get a zeppeling tone out of this very easy. I got into jaco and realized this bass was 99% perfect for that, but it has frets. However I wont be pulling the frets , this is a sweet jazz bass. Sounds identical to an original but at about an tenth of the price.
