  I'm a self-taught punk rocker (Joe Strummer was my guitar-hero) and have always owned and played electrics (82' black & gold tele; les paul std; fender p-bass). This is my first acoustic and I couldn't be happier. The Hellcat plays and sounds awesome. The guitar is well constructed, holds it?s tuning and best of all, required little set-up from my guitar tech. The accents are pretty cool too w/ the "Hellcat" logo in lieu of the dots. Personally, I don't think you can beat the quality for the price. The Hellcat is quickly becoming my "Old Friend" and of course there's nothing quite like playing your punk favorites on an acoustic... 5 Stars baby - yeah!

  This guitar looks/sounds great and the built in tuner does its job. Also, I like the body size and playability, but I had a few problems. First, I ordered online (new) and received a guitar with quite a few blemishes on the body. Not too big of a deal. Then after a few months I noticed some buzzing below the 11th fret and at some frets it wouldn't sound at all. I took it to a guitar repairer and had it setup. The truss rod was too tight and the bridge was too small and it had what looked like a cut out piece of a Popsicle stick under it to add space.I assume it was put in at the factory (made in china) to try and fix it, definitely a quality issue. Other than that, it gets out of tune quite easily when bending strings. I use .10's, so probably going heavier would prevent that. It stays in tune fine when strumming hard. I've had it for 7 months now and after the setup it has become my favorite acoustic. Just wish it would have arrived in better condition.

  For an cheap acoustic electric this one is great! I've been looking for a non-cutaway acoustic electric for some time and they are hard to find especially in this price range! The pickup is good and the tuner is nice to have on board! I had to file down the nut and bridge a bit to get the action I wanted but I'm still very happy with it. The hellcats are cool if you're into that but they are a nice addition and a conversation starter if anything. It's better than just having plain ole' dot inlays I suppose. The wood on the entire guitar is beautiful and it's a pleasure to play all the time. I have zero complaints and nothing but praise for this axe! Great job Fender! DD
