Availability:

One Eminence speaker belts out high-gain crunch, and fatter bass tone in this killer 22-watt combo.

For all the lovers of that notorious Fender tube-driven sound, the company rolls out the Super-Sonic 22 22W 1x12 tube combo, pushing your guitar tone into meaty guitar-shred heaven.

The Fender Super-Sonic 22 amp offers 22 watts of guitar power, for punishing distorted sound with more dedicated tone and bass frequency. With two channels and a handful of stellar tubes, your guitar tone will instantly be taken to new heights of sound barrier-shaking guitar tone.

The Fender Super-Sonic 22 delivers this versatility with the organic feel and moderate output power of the legendary Deluxe Reverb amp, perfect for most stage and studio applications. The Vintage channel on the tube amp delivers pure, unmistakable Fender tone, and the awesome Burn channel ignites musical inspiration with overdrive flavors ranging from bluesy to flame-throwing. And while the Fender Super-Sonic 22 is capable of heavily saturated tube distortion and sustain, it never masks the tonal character of your guitar. Offered in classic Black/Silver or iconic 1961 Blonde/Oxblood cosmetic treatment; both Fender amp versions include ivory "radio" knobs and flowing 1960s script logo.

  • Wonderfull Amp! Great Size! Heavenly Tones!

As reviewed by al romig on 12/15/2013

I was looking for a tube amp to use for gigs; small to medium venues. I was using a Trademark 60, which has always been a great amp, but I felt it lacked the sparkling clean tones that I needed. Having owned many Fender amps over many years, I was reluctant to go that way again, knowing that I would need effect pedals to get a good overdriven sound. Enter the SuperSonic 22...Great clean Deluxe Tones and a respectable Bassman tone, as well. The burn channel was really a pleasant surprise too me. I did not expect this amp to be any diffent from the many so-called gain channel Fenders that I had owned in the past. WOW, was I wrong! You can dial in almost any sound you wan't with this thing, from low distorted highly compressed blues tone, to any rock tone that you want. I'm not a metal player so I have no opinion on that . Overall, I'm blown away by the amount of versatility that this amp has. Best of all, it doesn't weigh much and it's relatively small. You're not going to freak the club owners by showing up with a half stack, but you have more than enough power to get the job done. Job Well Done Fender!

  • Versatility at it's Very Best!

As reviewed by Justin Dworaczyk on 2/4/2013

When I quit gigging years ago I sold my Mesa half stack (that I loved) and just played my Taylor for the next 10 years. By the time the urge to get another electric rig came around, my music taste had broadened and I had a kid on the way, so the Dual-Rectifier was not an option. I needed something that could handle 90's rock, Blues, and Country and do it all at both low and high volumes. My quest began and ended the day I demo'd this sweet little piece. This thing absolutely nails every tone I need. The "Vintage" clean is very classic Fender cleans. The "Fat" clean, my favorite, is the best clean I've ever heard(Think of Yellow Ledbetter). The "Burn" channel is the overdrive. The two gain knobs, plus the 3 band EQ let's you dial in ANYTHING you want! Seriously, SRV to Metallica, Rage to Hendrix, you name it, it can play it. I'm using an HSS Strat with Fat 50's and it's a very good fit, but I think any quality guitar would sound like a dream through it.

  • Awesome Amp!!

As reviewed by SAVERIO TORQUATO on 12/21/2012

I love this amp and have tried many guitar heads, from Orange, Mesa, Vox, Crate, Blackstar, Bugera and Peavey to name some and I think the Super-Sonic is the best out of all of them. Tone wise it has the clean and dirty tones I have been looking for. I mostly use the fat selection for clean, nice juicy Bassman sounding tone and the gain I do not run super dirty since I get the amp to sing more with the delay pedal. The dirty channel definitely has a more singing chime to it, not the chainsaw distortion that many amp manufactures seem to have. You can still get it to sound pretty heavy distortion wise too with Gain 1 and Gain 2 for compression!! Like all tube amps you have to deal with the hiss but I have solved this problem by running an ISP Decimator G String which runs through the effects loop and through the front of the amp. I highly suggest for anyone complaining about the hiss and noise which tube amps have naturally, get the ISP G String. I also run this with a Tube Amp Doctor attenuator for recording at night. This works well and I do not loose my tone with the cab simulator out. I did switch out the speaker to an Eminence Cannabis Rex and tones are even smoother for when I play live. Mine did have the pop sound when channel switching but I took it too the local authorized Fender repair shop and problem solved. This repair was covered under the Fender warranty.
