NEW REVIEW - Excellent Guitar
This guitar is just great. When I went to the guitar shop, I wanted an American Telecaster. I played every one they had. Then, I decided to pick up this baby for comparison, just to see how much it "sucked" compared to the Americans, like I hear so much from people. Man was I blown away. I couldn't believe my ears: the tone was BETTER than the American. It had the deeper, more twangy sound that was exactly what I wanted, and it was even slightly louder. I'm a tone chaser, all I really care about is tone, so I bought it on the spot. That being said, the neck on this guitar isn't as smooth playing as an American. It's also not as much of a looker, though I think it looks awesome. The pickups are also a bit noisy. But I wouldn't think twice before making the same decision again, I'm VERY happy with my purchase. Plays well, sounds amazing, looks good, and cheap price. What's more to want?

NEW REVIEW - The Only Flaw
The only flaw to this guitar is it's weight. I compared with my Ibanez Gio-which I thought was heavy- and it was a bit heavier. It plays beautifully in acoustic tone on my Ibanez amp. I was going for the look of Bruce Springsteen's Born to Run guitar and this definitely floats my boat. Overall, great guitar.

Good for the price
I got an ash FSR in Nov '07 and let's start with what's not listed: it actually has a tortiseshell pickguard (not white), it has a 3-piece body, and it doesn't come with a gig bag (unlike the other standard teles). That said, it weighs a ton but sounds quite good. With the mexis, there is more variation in quality than the americans, so check you neck-body gap and neck well, but all in all its a great guitar.
If looking for a vintage look you could easily throw on a fender vintage bridge, saddles, strap, and black pickguard and have a really nice fifties look. Highly recommended!

Beautiful Guitar
I was very pleased with the appearence right off the bat. Nice and solid and a beautiful finish. The neck is like butter. It is made in Mexico, but so what? It is a Fender... You can always change things here and there on this guitar but why do that? Keep it original in stock condition, that is why you bought it in the first place. It sounds great! But I will have to take it to my set up guy and have him do a proper adjustment to the strings and neck etc.... I will put Cleartone 9's on it to boot. I am getting myself a nice SKB66 case for this also. Yes, I will pay over $2000 for that American Tele sometime in the future in Blonde or Butterscotch............but right now, I love this guitar and it will be part of my collection.
You really should get this one.........
