ive had the MIM HSS strat for 4 years now and it is my everyday axe. I bought it originally becuz i wanted something cheap that if it gets banged up its not a big deal and i couldnt have picked a more sturdy guitar for the money. when i first got it i couldnt keep it in tune, so i changed the strings to some .010's and havent looked back. now when i use the tremolo it hardly ever comes out of tune. in the 4 years ive had this guitar it has really grown on me. the body sits in my lap comfortably and the neck is smooth (although i dropped mine a few times and nicked the back of the neck) the finish still looks beautiful but there is a small bubble on the bottom of the body. i was told this is common with mexican strats. it doesnt bother me though as i plan to play this untill it falls apart. plugged in it sounds just like any other strat- twangy, bluesy, clear. the pickups in it are fine for playing at your house or for a hobbyist. if you gig or what not you may want to swap out the stock p-ups idk. but overall i give this fender 5 stars comparing it to other guitars in the price range. i play it everday and i have been since purchasing it in 2008 and this guitar will be able to satify me for years to come
I got this guitar a little over a month ago and its been great so far. The only problem i've seen is some small buzzing on the frets but its easily fixed. Has an overall great sound though.
I bought this guitar on Saturday March 23rd. I tried various Epiphones, a Gretsch,and an Ibanez. When I played this Fender Strat, I was convinced this guitar is going home with me.It has a double coil which brings out its powerful,clear sound.The neck is as smooth as silk making it easy to play.This guitar is made in Mexico, with American components. Another thing I like about the guitar is the price, which is great for such a quality guitar. I love this guitar,and am glad I purchased it. I would highly recommend this Fender to anyone.
