A strong guitar at this price!
This is the 6th Fender I've bought over the years, my 4th Stratocaster, and I have to say, right out of the box, this is the best one I've owned yet! Seriously. This guitar sounds better than my '68 reissue, and is far more playable for average hands than my '95 American Standard. I bought it because of the color I could get for a left-handed guitar, but it's no cheapy as the price might imply, it sounds and plays excellently, and is very well built for an entry level price guitar! A stellar bargain!

If it's not broken...
It's difficult to review the standard Fender stratocaster, as it seems to be the baseline from which all other guitars are judged. That said, it is a beautiful instrument, both to the eyes and the ears. The three single-coil pickups give you that nice, bright sound, and the 5-way switching offers plenty of room in terms of versatility. The neck is not overly large, bor is it anorexic. It's big enough to chord on, but is fast enough for.. well.. Malmsteen. All in all, a great guitar for most styles, especially classic rock and blues.

Hecho en Mexico Stratocastero
The fit and finish is superb, with just a few minor quirks: The plastic back plate had nasty burrs all around the edges, the jack plate screw holes were stripped, and the tone pots were wired backwards (the rear pot controlled the front pickup, etc.).
I fixed all these problems myself in just a short time, and now the guitar is in perfect shape. Had I spent the thousand-plus dollars for an American Strat, I'd be kinda ticked, but as I got nearly the same guitar for 400 bucks and a little work, who can complain?
Must have been made on a Monday morning after a Tijuana weekend. Been there, done that!

Can't Go Wrong
You can't go wrong with this guitar. It is a step up from the squier strats and shares a lot of similar features as its more expensive relatives. This guitar sounds great for whatever music you play. I personally use if for a lot of alternative and punk rock but when I dabble in other genres it still sounds great. The tremolo bridge is awesome. I have the light blue finish and it looks great hanging on my light blue walls inbetween jam sessions. If you want a solid strat for a low price, go with this one, you can't go wrong.

AWESOME VALUE
You pretty much can't get a better guitar at this price range. A solid beginning/intermediate guitar, the Strat is a classic that can't be beat. Great for rock, blues, or whatever your style is. The only thing is that the stock strings aren't the greatest, but that can be easily remedied with a pack of SuperBullets.
