The bass with a secure place in rock 'n' roll history!

First introduced in 1960, the Jazz Bass has stood the test of time to become one of the most played instruments in modern musical history. Many Fender firsts such as the offset waist body, ultraslim fast-action neck, and full-range bi-pole pickups are standard features on the Standard Jazz Bass. This is an affordable update of the Fender classic that incorporates 2 bi-pole pickups fashioned after the American Series pickups.

Great bass at an affordable price

I've played the same 4-string bass for 24 years and was very hesitant to change over to a 5-string. I was content to play my old bass forever until I picked up this Fender. After all...what's with those extra 5 notes below the E string. I started on a 4-string Fender Jazz when in high school in the 80's and have now returned to Fender after all these years. For the price of this 5-string; Try it. You may find that you'll love it.

A Fantastic Instrument

The Fender? Standard Jazz Bass V String is a quality instrument with a great sound. It sounds amazing on almost any amplifier, and is a great product. The instrument is comfortable and adaptable, and can be kept throughout a lifetime.

My Main Bass

I looked at a lot of basses before buying this particular model. Finally, after going back and forth between a Yamaha 5 string and the Jazz V, my brother and law told me "Friends don't let friends, Not buy a Fender!" I am very happy with everything but I wish the grade of pick ups were better and I wish it had the old fender vibe to it (retro looking decals etc.)

This bass is excellent

I'd been playing bass for about a year and a quarter, and it had all been on a beginner knock-off brand bass my dad had gotten me for my 16th birthday. It was ok for starting out, but i felt like my abilities were held back. When my dad said it was time to buy me a new bass, he took me to guitar center and I came upon this beauty. When I tried it out, it felt awkward adjusting to the 5th string, but only for a few minutes. After a while, I felt like this bass belonged in my hands. The distance between strings was perfect and the neck wasn't outrageously huge. I found that I could really cut loose on this superbly crafted bass.
