A killer Strat with humbucker punch!

The Fender Standard Stratocaster HSS (also known as a Fat Strat) electric guitar features everything players love about the Stratocaster-alder body, maple C-shaped neck, vintage synchronized trem, single-coil pickups-plus the added versatility of a humbucker in the bridge position. This HSS configuration, in combination with the 5-position switch, provides a huge array of tonal possibilities. Standard Strats now feature a thicker bridge block for increased sustain and a more stable point of contact with the strings.

An arsenal of sounds!

I first picked up a Fender Standard HSS Startocaster Electric Guitar because I've seen so many people use it and now I know why! This baby has such smooth playability that you're never going to want to put it down, that's a warning. The action is just perfectly set and the neck is so smooth. That's not even the best part, which is, the fact that you can get virtually ANY sound out of this instrument. I knew you could get the classic rock sound out of it because of all the people who use it and I knew blues is good on it but not THIS good. With a little reverb, you're in heaven playing this baby! And with the humbucker on the bridge, you can get a perfect heavy metal sound, believe it or not. It's just a tone machine! I use it gigging all the time so I really never need another guitar! Seriously, pick this guitar up for yourself and you'll have it for a lifetime. You won't regret it!

sweet sound, affordable, well done

yeah, this one's a sweet one. if you're looking for a budget guitar with some quality, save up to get this fat strat instead of the poorly made squiers. i have an arctic white one with a lovely rosewood neck (which looks sweet), and the sound is excellent--especially on the bridge pickup. the sound is solid and sounds awesome. the quality surpasses any squier. don't be fooled by a shiny paintjob, squiers are way inferior in everything from the pickups to the craftmanship. sell a kidney or two but make sure you get this guitar.

Strat HSS

This was my very first guitar and I couldn't have picked a better one for any price. The fretboard is very fast the options this guitar has with all the tone controls are amazing. It is great as a beginner's and more experienced player's axe. If you get it, you won't be disappointed.

Great value

Out of my five guitars, the Fender Standard HSS Stratocaster is my favorite guitar I own.The quality of this guitar is great. The steel rod in the neck to prevent warping is a sign of great quality. The sound quality of the guitar is very good. The sound is very close to the American version.I recommend this as a main guitar or a beginner who wants to step up a level

Fender Hss Stratocaster

I have been playing guitar for over thirty five years and have owned several guitars including a 1970 Fender Jazzmaster, A late seventies Ibanez Artist Series, and a Fender Squire Stratocaster. I can honestly say that you get a lot of bang for your buck with this guitar. I play this guitar through a small Marshall and get an excellent sound. The added dimension of the Humbucking pick up is a plus. When I compare this guitar to the SG special, I feel that it is easier to play fast licks on the SG.I spoke with a specialist at the Guitar Center and he stated it is because of the design of the neck. Nevertheless, this guitar is still a great buy.
