  • Great Amp, Otheres Got It All Wrong

    This is really a good, amp, not the best obviously because you get what you pay for, but it is a great amp for the price range! People keep complainging that, "It crackles" and "It's to quiet", but they obviously are amuatuers because they dont understand the term of a PRACTICE AMP! This amp is designed for beginners and for private playing to level-up your skills. The crackling can easily be fixed that everyone seems to be complaing about by unpluging any other cord in the outlet that your amp is connected to. I get crakling all the time and this always helps. Also, if your using the cord that came with the Squier bundle pack, its a cheap cord and I advise you upgrade to remove the crakling noises. The second problem people seem to be complaing about is that they don't seem to realise its a practice amp for bedroom playing by yourself. If you go play in a band, OF COURSE your going to get drowned out! Your bandmates are probably going to have higher wattage than your amp and if your with a drummer, you need at least a 100watt amp to play with a drummer. Practice amps dont go very loud and if you really strain it to, it will sound bad because it wasnt DESIGNED for that! All in all, I give this 4 stars because the only flaw that isnt fixable with this amp is a slight buzz when you turn up the treble high. It's a great amp, and if your starting to learn how to play, go get it BUT get it in the Squier pack because this amp by itself for the price is not really a "steal" but I think it has great tone and you really get a deal from it by buying the Squier pack if you dont already own a bass.

  • CRRRRRRRRRRRRAAAAAAAAAAP

    THis amp sounds like a HUMMING BABY WHALE. Its horrible! The sound and tone stinks, the cd imput ratles like crazy and it just STINKS. I hate this amp and i would pay to get rid of it but its all ive got. DO NOT BUY!!!

  • If you only want to practice...

    I got this amp about a year ago as part of the starter pack with a squier bass. Good stuff first: It's small enough to take anywhere; I've brought it to school on the bus before. It's fine as a practice amp, if you keep the volume down. It also has very few feedback issues, I've only had feedback once or twice. Bad stuff: The low end sucks. And 8-inch speaker just isn't enough to provide real deep tones. It's also way too quiet. I can't hear myself when playing with a drummer. He has to muffle his drums with paper towels at practices. Completely insufficient for any type of gigging. Overall, I'd say its kinda nice to have as a backup, practice amp or if you want to travel. But for any real playing with other people, get something else.
