Product Information

Collector's looks at a player's price.

The Fender Road Worn '50s Stratocaster is an electric guitar that delivers killer aged looks, feel, and mojo without breaking the bank. The '50s Road Worn Strat was designed using 1950s specs augmented by Tex-Mex pickups and 6105 frets.

Like classic cars or your favorite T-shirt, some things just get cooler with age. It's especially true of electric guitars. They develop an unmistakable mojo over time that makes them look even cooler and feel even more comfortable than when they were new. In that regard, the Fender Road Worn '50s Stratocaster is a true player.

Absolutely stunning!!!

Last week I bought 2 60's roadworn Strats and the 50's Tele.I am converted to this new series now...they are all I want to play.Today I bought the 50's Strat in black. It looks absoluletly gorgeous...just like Clapton's old beat up 'Blackie'.The relic job looks very credible. The workmanship is fantastic. The sleek contoured alder body is light and the soft 'V' neck plays really well due to the tall frets and sanded off lacquer in back and front. The acoustic tone sounds so detailed and resonant due to the thin nitro lacquer finish and the relic job only enhances it even more. The classic Strat tones are all there with the Tex Mex pickups...Jimmie Vaughan uses the very same ones in his signature model.I can't believe Fender is finally offering something of this caliber and vibe at a very reasonable price.I would argue that I prefer this series to many of the custom shop relics I've tried!!!I searched my whole musical life for a guitar that would have this kind of vibe when bought brand new.All my other guitars feel so plasticky and vibeless in comparasion. It would take them years to achieve this level of relic. It's amazing how these guitars excel in every aspect...tone,looks,vibe and comfort...brand new!!!

How a Strat should really Sound

OK, I've had it for a month now, and this Strat kicks butt, no apologies! I can't put it down, it's that good! It's almost passing my beloved PRS CE24 as my "go to" guitar. Nevermind what some reviews have stated about upgrading the pick-ups. I have a USA made Lonestar Strat with the Texas Specials & Duncan Pearly Gates; it doesn't come anywhere close to getting those vintage Strat tones as this Roadworn! With a Mesa Lonestart 2X12 & absolutely no effects, I'm getting dead on Mark Knophler, Robbert Cray, SRV, Chris Duarte, Tommy Castro, "Derek" area Clapton, and with some VS Route 66 & delay, even Eric Johnson tones. Thanks Fender for having the Custom Shop guys show the Baja craftsmen how to do the 'Relic' thing, although I would have bought the guitar if it was shinny new & looked/played/sounded this good. I said to the Roseville Guitar Center salesman, "Now that's how a Start should sound' upon playing it. If you have been looking for that classic Strat tone, well brothers/sisters, here it is!!!
