  • Road worn 60s strat

    Ive had 2 strats,and a vintage 60's Jaguar. This thing is amazing. At first I thought why should I pay that much for a "worn" guitar, but The sound is incredible. This is the best sounding and playing guitar I have ever owned. I had the players deluxe a few years ago and this guitar plays better than that. Honestly, This may be the last guitar I buy in a VERY long time. It may "wear out" before I buy another one. If you have the cash, and are looking for something that sounds,looks and plays great, buy it. Thats all I can say.

    I've only been playing electrics since 1969- beginning with strat and LP knockoffs from old Lafayette Electonics Catalog etc. Currently own PRS 513, '05 Clapton Strat, Gretsch 6120, Ric 360 and a few others. I treated myself to buying this guitar for Christmas 2009-found it by mistake taking a PRS Sweet 16 amp for a test run-have hardly put it down since-always grab for it due to it's great feel. C-shape neck is so easy to play especially due to sanding as well a light-weight feel due to worn nitro finish. Tone is pure classic strat and it rings/sustains beautifully like the best PRS models due to the worn nitro finish. Harmonics are exceptional. Trem/bridge very stable on this guitar-I usualy block strats, but have kept this baby active and love it. Classic tuners are quite stable too.Even though overall guitar has comprehensive relic treatment, the frets/fretbard are like new-rosewood fretboard yields nice warm tone. The look-probably a matter of taste. I think it looks cool, but not really that important compared to awesome feel, and tons of sweet classic strat tones. Had mine set up by my tech, but not a whole lot needed other than slight lowering of action. This guitar is a huge value. MIM means nothing on this model-it's as sweet as anything made anywhere including the good ole US of A. Props to Fender! You can spend a few thousand more and get the same or less feel, playbility, and tone. Play in to mostly Fender and Ampeg tube amps yielding heavenly tones. Yeah, this IS the one. Perhaps a diamond in the rough, but THE one. Like another post says, if this axe doesn't get handed down then it's goin in the ground with me someday-hopefully a long time from now because playing this guitar is just too much fun.

    This is a Wow! Last year's American Standard was a wow... but I bought this one if you catch my drift. This guitar feels and sounds great. I've had Tex-Mex pickups in a maple neck guitar, but this pairing (with the rosewood) is a triumph. Fender has completely outdone themselves. Fender has broken the mold again. This thing sounds heavy with a tight bass, has loads of mid, and the highs actually throw sparks (not actually) :0 The look is another triumph... and the neck is a perfect size. This thing has 6105 frets on a 7.25 radius, which sounds strange, but it is pure genius. This is a work of art. Try one.
