Get vintage Fender tone and looks with modern engineering.

Fire up this little 9-watt beauty and you’ll be storming the ramparts of Fender’s pure tube tone, with real, usable power and performance. With the use of dual "Hot" and "Cool" input channels, you’ll have great tonal flexibility when pushing that classic, crystal-clear Fender sound through the 12" Special Design speaker or through the 1/4" speaker out. The “Cool” channel is voiced from warm and clean to some slight breakup with use of the independent volume control; while the “Hot” side of this easily portable tone machine ranges from mild to wild. And tinkering with your sound doesn’t get much more basic than the Ramparte’s layout of just two independent chicken-head volume knobs, coupled with your guitar’s pickups and tone and volume controls.

Around the back of this two-tone chocolate-and-copper offering from Fender’s Pawn Shop Special line, you’ll find the tube complement of two 12AX7 preamp tubes and single 6L6 power tube — the heart and soul of that unmistakable tube-driven vintage Fender sound.

The Ramparte is ideally powered and voiced for use in practice and studio settings to be able to get rich tube breakup at bedroom-friendly volume levels.

  • Excellent tone and quality

As reviewed by Jay Clark on 12/13/2013

There isn't much to this amp in terms of options but I'm very happy with the tone I'm getting out of it. I'm going for a dirty Fender tone and I found that if I attach an A/B box and run both channels at the same time it sings. Andertons did a youtube video review showing the A/B trick and it works as expected. The amp hardware and coverings have very nice detail and even nice to the touch. It looks like a much more expensive amp. It just has volume controls, so don't expect to change much of anything and of course it has no effects loop. I just play mainly for myself and mostly at home so I've detatched the provided speaker, which sounds fine, but because I want to drive the amp a little dirty at non ear piercing volumes I changed the setup. From the amp I attach to a weber 25W attenuator and use the 6db switch to keep the highs at the low volumes. From there I run it into an open back 1x12 cab that has an Eminence red coat FDM speaker. The FDM is key in that model, it allows you to adjust the speaker cone distance from the magnet letting you get an additional volume drop. So between the weber and the FDM speaker I can drive the amp actually way past dirty if I want and have very reasonable bedroom volumes.

  • Stellar Small Combo

As reviewed by Douglas on 11/30/2014

For the $229 I paid @ Guitar Center, there is NOTHING that compares with this old school, low-powered tube amp. Period. Aesthetics are a perfect rendition of a '50s look, with 2 different textured, coordinated fabric coverings, leather handle and wheat/jute grille. A pure boutique look, with a very real high-quality feel. My LP Studio '50s Tribute Worn Goldtop is a perfect companion, and its P-90s sound good through either of its 2 (Cool, and Hot) channels. Sure, there's no Tone knob: use your guitar's. And yes, the truly delicious crunch/breakup only occurs at ridiculous volume levels. (Did I mention this 9-watt amp is beaucoup loud cranked?) So it's got plenty of clean headroom (for all but big-stage use), and I achieve lower volume breakup with an OCD pedal. Reverb would be nice, so I'll get a pedal. Big deal. This amp has exceeded my expectations, and time will tell it's reliability.

  • Excellent Little Amp!

As reviewed by ROBERT on 8/25/2014

This amp looks amazing and sounds amazing. For only being 9 watts, it goes quite loud. I have it in my living room and I usually only have the volume in the cool channel on 3. The tone of this amp is extremely warm and mellow, almost relaxing enough to put you into a comatose state. If you are looking for an all tube amp that doesn't look like an amp and you have been chasing that warm tone, look no further, you just found it.
